Phil,
Enabling SysRq support doesn't by itself do anything, but allows certain
inspection and/or recovery if the system locks up "hard". See
Documentation/sysrq.txt in the kernel tree for the details.
If, however, there's nothing printed on the console at lockup, I'd start
to suspect hardware errors.
I'm pretty sure it's just a hardware clash, not persay error. I've
noticed this:
PVR250, still works in KM400 system
PVR250, works in nforce3 system
PVR500, works in Nforce3 system (winblows gaming system)
PVR500, Doesn't work in KM400 system
These are the interupts used:
/proc/interupts (PVR250):
CPU0
0: 581321 XT-PIC timer
1: 1754 XT-PIC i8042
2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
5: 7899 XT-PIC VIA8237, eth0
7: 178 XT-PIC ohci1394
8: 2 XT-PIC rtc
11: 17853 XT-PIC libata, ivtv0
12: 4774 XT-PIC i8042
14: 165 XT-PIC ide0
15: 20578 XT-PIC ide1
/proc/interupts (PVR500):
CPU0
0: 12257509 XT-PIC timer
1: 2528 XT-PIC i8042
2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
3: 2 XT-PIC ohci1394
7: 3518 XT-PIC uhci_hcd:usb2, uhci_hcd:usb3
8: 2 XT-PIC rtc
10: 240832 XT-PIC ehci_hcd:usb1, VIA8237, eth0, ivtv1
11: 295023 XT-PIC libata, uhci_hcd:usb4, uhci_hcd:usb5, ivtv0
12: 110 XT-PIC i8042
14: 1547 XT-PIC ide0
15: 440122 XT-PIC ide1
I can't seem to find a way of switching ivtv1 and ivtv0 to another interupt,
something like irq5.
I have an award bios. Turned of PnP OS already, manual IRQ settings. But I can
only set IRQ's for PIN1 to PIN4 .. but I can't select the IRQ the 1 pci slot
must use.
