It should act like a flash drive in that your system will pick it up but
then it is your deal what goes on it ETC. Normally they are empty and in
most cases I have seen if there would be any software already on the drive
for you to install on your system it won't be accessible.

I just got a call from a guy who told me that:

http://www.buy.com

has a 2 TB Phantom USB 3.0 drive for $90. I did check and it is absolutely
true. I have a Phantoms for a few years already only it is a 1 TB drive.

Thanks David and others for your speedy answers.
When I plug it in to the USB drive, will it start backing up my computer
itself?
Or can I choose what gets put on it like using a flash drive?
Do I need or want to back up programs, or in my case I just want to back up
mainly music and books and documents?
thanks again for all your answers.
I have not bought one yet, I am looking on Amazon right now for the best
one.
Does anyone have a good model or brand that you might suggest besides
seagate which I am thinking of buying?
