This will open the volume control, and at that point you can simply use the up and down arrow keys, or the page up and down keys to change the volume level. Once you have the volume where you want it, simply alt + F4 to close the dialogue. Use caution when assigning a keystroke to your shortcut so that it does not conflict with a keystroke in another application. If you need help in creating a shortcut, let us know.
