Hi Wayne,
>From what I have found over the years, not all keyboards have dedicated
volume keys,
so I am hoping this particular keyboard lasts me a long time.
When this one gives up, I may find myself using a shortcut.

Thanks for the lesson. The shortcut key is good. I used to have up and
down volume keys until I bought this HP.

Hi Wayne,
The original poster ask for a shortcut key to perform the task, and that is
what I gave.
Once the shortcut and associated keystroke are set up, there is nothing to
type , simply perform the keystroke, select the volume you want, and close
out of the volume control.
There are multiple ways of doing anything in Windows, and each person has
their preferences, this is just one of them.
For instance, I don't use your method or any shortcut, I simply use the
volume key on my keyboard.

I am using Windows 7 and if I want to adjust the volume I just press the
Windows key and type in Volume. One of the choices is Adjust system volume
and I hit enter on that choice. I then arrow to the volume level I want and
hit enter and it's done. It is much quicker than this description.

Hi Kimber,
You didn't mention which version of Windows you are using, but this works in
Windows 7:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\SndVol.exe

Simply copy and paste this into the target field in a new shortcut.
This will open the volume control, and at that point you can simply use the
up and down arrow keys, or the page up and down keys to change the volume
level.
Once you have the volume where you want it, simply alt + F4 to close the
dialogue.
Use caution when assigning a keystroke to your shortcut so that it does not
conflict with a keystroke in another application.
If you need help in creating a shortcut, let us know.

Hi All,

Is it possible to create a shortcut key/key combination to control the
volume of jaws without having to open the systray then the speakers
then the volume?

Thanks,
Kimber
