so then the web author did not allow directly saving it, follow the
other directions provided by Adrian or whomever it was.

if there's a link that implies it is for a pdf, you could right click
it and choose save target as, if it is allowed by the web author/master.

Is there a way to stop a pdf file from opening on the webpage, but
rather downloading instead?
I am using Jaws 14 and 17 with IE 11 and the latest version of Adobe.
I have tried entering on the links, using the spacebar, right
clicking, using Jaws key and also the context menu, but they all open
rather than save the file. There is usually no option to save the file
once it is opened as well.
