I did it with the numpad as well as with the jaws curser.

Hi Vicky,
When you are on the pdf file in IE do a right mouse click to bring up the
menu. Then arrow down to save target as. If you use the application key it
does not bring up the same menu as using the right mouse click.

if there's a link that implies it is for a pdf, you could right click it
and choose save target as, if it is allowed by the web author/master.

Is there a way to stop a pdf file from opening on the webpage, but
rather downloading instead?

I am using Jaws 14 and 17 with IE 11 and the latest version of Adobe.

I have tried entering on the links, using the spacebar, right clicking,
using Jaws key and also the context menu, but they all open rather than
save the file. There is usually no option to save the file once it is
opened as well.
