Well I thought I'd figured it out. It doesn't seem to work when I'm trying to get it to work, like a new project. But on the projects where I've been recording a while I can get it to work for some reason. Still being quirky. Bet there's some kind of display setting messed up or something. Still I've progressed further than I had before. I know what you mean about having better stuff. I don't *need* a lot of effects to record the way I do. So my laptop works and certainly much better than my net book did. But my plan is to get a computer from sweetwater or somewhere that's designed for music that I can hook the motif to. I don't realoly want to hook it to the laptop. Btw, if anyone has suggestions for fixing "Your Long Journey" and all the timing problems I am having with the song, I'd be glad to send them the bundle. The bass mainly needs to be fixed. Of course, I guess I can play with it and fix it myself. Bluegrass stuff is always harder because they don't play by any strict rules about timing it's just kind of like well play how you feel it. That works well if you're experienced. But I will stop talking about that now since it's really not a jsonar question thing.

I do not know why this works or what it's supposed to do, but when in the track window and on the name of the track I press the f8 key by itself, then when it says now measure 1 I tab and it says track inspector and then again and it goes back to the track window. For some reason after that little dance, I can push control ap and it brings up the correct menu. Praise the lord, finally figured out how to make that work, and I'm not usually a person that goes around using that particular expression... well at least not out loud. For me a praise the lord moment is usually private. But I am super happy that I figured this out. I am also happy that "Your Long Journey is sounding very good except for a couple timing and mixing issues which I will probably fix.
