You have hit the nail on the head with your reply to Julia. The modern life style makes it very difficult for people to get out to classes in the evening anymore. People work very long hours, and have to continue to work even when they are married and a family comes along. No time for lace. Perhaps this is the reason for the growth in 'instant ' crafts. Card making etc. We still have a need to fulfil the creative side of ourselves but not the time to devote to learning lace.
