Unfortunately, there are not always "others on the same site" asking lower
prices. When I first started needle lace, I scoured the internet looking
for instruction books. I found 3 that I could afford. They were either in
print, or where on sale for cheaper than when they'd been offered in the
first place. All the rest were well over $150USD and up to $500USD. This
was back in 2005.

I didn't buy the books, because I didn't have that much money to spend on a
book. I have spent many hours trying to find "reasonable priced" books,
especially when a title is stated here on the Arachne list. Many times I'm
disappointed because it's either not being sold at all, or it's for the
prices quoted above and in other emails.

People ask "these silly prices" because they go searching on the internet,
and see that there are no reasonably priced out of print books on the
market. So they know that it'll just be a matter of time before somebody
with money, who's searching for that specific book, will buy it from them.
