For my final year project last year I had developed a GC for the RCX. It was
a mixture of ideas taken from mark-n-sweep and Boehm GC. It didnt work out
very well with the RCX because of the small memory left for programs, but
could be very useful for the NXT. I would be glad to help out, if leJOS
wants to build a GC for NXT. Although I dont have a NXT with me yet, I could
try and save up a little money and develop it for the NXT.
The only problem is that I'll have to rewrite the entire code. I destroyed
all my work after the project, since none of my professors/classmates
acknowledged my effort and none of them found any practical use of a
RCX-based "toy" robot. Although I scored the highest in my Univ, the
satisfaction of doing it was dissolved!
