I haven't built X itself in a while (and the X server people also ripped
libdbus out after the abort() incident, so I'd be surprised if it now requires
it again), but nothing that I have built appears to fail without it.  Dunno...

But I'm also doing weird hacks with an alternate libc in /opt to get
binary-only games to work (mostly unity-engine, which compiles against a glibc
version just *slightly* newer than this base system, so they refuse to start
up), if that's any indication of how old the rest of the system is.

Yeah, I'm mostly worried about that changing without anyone noticing, and
maybe considering whether the change is worth it.  Maybe it is, but if we
don't know, it's going to be hard to evaluate it.
