Hm, I have this same machine, and have no problems at all with it.  I'm
typing this from 2.4.21 + acpi patch right now, haven't booted
2.4.22-preX at all on this box.  2.5 also works quite well.

Have you tried it without the swsusp patch?

Can you try a 2.5 kernel to see how that works?
