Supposedly 9.10 works a lot better with intel video hardware. I'm not
advocating you make the move right now, but it's something to keep in
mind.

More likely, I would guess your problem comes from the fact that your
server is running 32-bit Ubuntu (i386) and/or you have flow control
turned on. Use the 64-bit Ubuntu (amd64/x86_64) and make sure flow
control is off if you're on a gigabit switch.
