Nvidia is much better than ATI at everything IMO. Using ATI's fglrx means NO
compositing at all unless you go the XGL route, whereas it's not a problem
on nvidia chips no matter what compositing manager you use. aiglx, xgl,
beryl, compiz. They should all work on an nvidia chip using Nvidia's closed
drivers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
2.4GHz now instead of 2.3. new thinner Intel chip. Uses less power and gives
off less heat, better battery life.
Also might have the new display using LED technology instead of the
florescence they use now.
30% brighter and uses HALF the power, and thinner.
All in all I'm really kicking myself in the but for not waiting... Enjoy
your new lappy... :-)
I'll just go skulk in the corner some more...
One thing to consider is forking out the extra money for a 17"... They use
the stndard sized superdrives wheras the 15.4's use these crappy 9.5 form
factor drives. I personally have had lots of problems with the superdrive (
15.4"). Both models. Matshita and the newer HL-HD whatever drive.
It's a new drive technology that's too problematic IMO... Food for thought.
