Are all Iranians collaborators of CIA for daring to dream social justice for their country? The same old trivial question that must be asked from many American leftists every day. Where is Reza Shahabi, the imprisoned worker, in your equations? I am afraid you missed him in the middle of your "anti-imperialist" sentiments, however, such discourses toward Iranians display a sugarcoated imperialism too. What would you tell to the imprisoned students, like Bahareh hedayat or Majid Dori, that for their smallest wishes of justice in their country they have been brutally imprisoned? Where are they in your equations? Do Iranians exist out of US-imperialism concept or they should go and live a "twitter-less life" with their progressive class-conscious workers in jail so that leftists in the US clap for them? It seems like you have sympathy for Iranian government to shut down twitter to oppress the population, why? Would you have the same attitude if twitter would be shut down in the US? If your answer is no, please elaborate more. Do they have to submit to the domestic tyranny just because US imperialism gets happy when they stand up to their domestic oppressors? Actually, it's only for imperialist leftists that IR and US imperialism are opposite forces, for Iranians, US imperialism and IR work hand in hand. It's Iranian people paying the price of economic sanctions and US imperialism, let's not forget that Iranian government has used such interventions in their benefits. Leftists clap when Tunisian dictator leaves Tunisia but stigmatize Iranians when they stand against tyranny in their country. Thus leftists only mind tyranny if the tyrant is an ally of the US.
