Just for clarification when confronting police lines or when police lines mobilize, it's not uncommon to put "white bodies" between the riot cops and POC with the idea that they will get less of a beating. Sometimes it works that way, other times not so much. In any case, the call is from POC leaders of the action, whether it be blac blocking or just shielding folks who are trying to hold a "symbolic space".
