That's strange...
All print commands work for me under w2k. (even via the menu File)

Jens sent some new DLLs (dated 8 feb), and they did change things slightly.
Before I needed BOTH DLLs present to cause the crash,
Now, just _either_ hexEditor or FunctionList DLL present will give the
problem [R6025 Pure virtual function call GPF].
Remove them, and it's fine again : All print paths work OK.
Machine has been rebooted recently for a larger SW install, and that made
no difference.

If it's a text editor, why isn't there a default extension of .txt for saving
files? Or, better yet why not let people choose there own default extension
for saving files. I'm real tired of typing .txt to save a file.

II originally posted this to a thread on spell checking. But, I was in error.
I thought it might get lost in the shuffle.

Greg, i like your idea. Another option could also be:
C:\MyFolderA\MyFile.Txt
C:\MyFolderB\MyFile.Txt
would get backed up as:
C:\Backups\MyFolderA\MyFile.Txt
C:\Backups\MyFolderB\MyFile.Txt
Where C:\Backup is the desired backup directory.
That's how UltraEdit does it.
Cheers,
Drye Kindrew

I love notepad++ but i cannot use it very practically. The one big feature that
would be easy to add is multiline search/replace fields with support for special
characters like TAB, CR, and LF. when i do a search and replace, most of the
time my delimiters are one of those 3. and it is impractical to use regular
expressions for them, and much less so in a single line. this one aspect is
very important to a text editor. i think a search/replace like in MS word is
ideal because it allows for literal copy of multiline text to search and
replace,
and really the ability to represent any characters simply even although it too
is also single line.
editpad is my choice right now for this feature exclusively. otherwise i would
much rather use np++.
thanks,
Leon

When selecting text, hold down the ALT key to select a column.

I have searched the forum and looked at the off-line help files, but I cannot
figure out how to use Notepad++'s folding feature to just create collapsable
outlines and lists of plain text (not program code). I have tried just using
indents for levels and then selecting the folding and collapsing options in
the context menu, but didn't work for me.
I apologize if this is really simple or obvious, but I really can't figure it
out and have tried to search for an answer before posting this very basic
question.
Any help will be appreciated. If you need to flame me, I probably deserve that
-- but please tell me how to solve my problem as well. : )
George

Please write in English if you want to get answer sooner.
You have this feature in TextFX.
