Note that each system is different.
- FreeBSD is posix and follows different packaging conventions from
various linux distributions.
- MacOS has MacPorts as well as Brew, different systems with different
packaging conventions.
etc.

A package maintainer knows the requirements of the system being
maintained, not upstream developers.
