If you have the rear screen turned off on the K-3 it doesn't flash the
mode as well. Best I can say is to memorize the number of clicks to
your next preferred mode. You can usually tell what mode it is in by
what settings are changeable in the viewfinder too. Like on the K-5
IIs AV and M are only two clicks apart. I think they are all like that
with TAv in between.
