Yes, many would rather go for an experience undergrad any day. But I would
prefer an experienced BS degree holder over an experienced non-degree holder..
Although I've met and worked with a lot of experienced undergrad, many do not
possess the discipline and the zest for doing all around work -- especially
reporting and status updates.
I learned this a few years ago...having a graduate degree (MS and Phd) does
not make you an expert in your field. It simply hones your discipline knowing
that if you graduate, you can tackle any problem thrown your way. There are
quite a few who finished their academics in their graduate degree, but really
never find the time to finish their thesis or dissertations. Certainly they
do not lack the abilities, but simply lack the discipline to continue and see
it through. So if you have that 3 units left, prove to your employer that you
have that discipline, no matter how hard, to finish it...if not for the
degree, for your own satisfaction. I did it for mine. And not for any
employer.
