What is Linux ?
Linux is a free (GPL Licensed), from scratch operating system based 
heavily on the POSIX and UNIX API'so It supports both 32 and 64 bit 
hardware and provides a stable multiuser internet ready operating system.

Linux

A free open source operaticg system originally developed in 1991 by Linus 
Torvalds. Currently developed by a world wide team of volunteer 
programters and sold by several large software companies. Can be freely 
downloaded and modified.


I hope I a making a point here... Linux is an OS. Linux is not a kernel.
