I think it highly unlikely it is SGC. I *bet* it will work fine when tested by your seller. As I said in my previous comment, I found that changing the ROM cured the problem. Try swapping the ROMs and see if the problem moves. Also bad contacts in the edge connector (J1) can be an issue.
