Hi there, My main QL setup consist of a Aurora+SuperGoldCard+QUBIDE. To the QUBIDE I have two HD one of 100MB and the other 270 MB. Up to today, I had no problem with this system. But now when I fire up the computer, it hang just after the QUBIDE banner. There is no scaning for HD and no HD reported. Pressing F1/F2 does nothing.
First thing I thought was: some connection got loose inside the computer. So I re-seated every card and every cable. Same problem. Next probable cause: bad HD. I unplugged both HD and tried again. Same problem : computer is stocked after displaying the QUBIDE banner. I guess it look like the QUBIDE card itself. It IS working to a certain point as I can see the banner on screen. I finally removed the QUBIDE card from the setup and the computer now work ok, albeit with no HD... So what can go wrong with a QUBIDE ? Rom ? Power converter ? The GAL chips ? (Whatever that is). Is it reparable ? Is it supposed not to hang the computer if there is no HD attached ? Any thoughts ? My QUBIDE rom version is 1.56, the QUBIDE PCB is v2.1. Thank you.
