All:
Having used Java with MIDI (which does garbage-collection), I can attest
that if you don't set up things right, garbage-collection can introduce
occasional unexpected latency, which could be really annoying when
you're almost done with a flawless recording!
If you use garbage collection, you need to set it so it's done often, so
when it gets done, there is not a big delay.
