I committed the "best of both worlds" merge on new branch
controllers-BOBW.
I am particularly interested in Tim Munro's comments on it.
Some minor missing stuff:
* Still not sure of the "right" way to update all the
tr("Value (%):")'s.
* I have made a new wiki page to document it, but can't seem to
upload the images I have.
