That's what I'd recommend. Take the low road. Get results faster. Setting notes to a color of your choosing turns out to be one of those things that's just stupidly complicated, because of the organic way the code evolved, and things got tacked on over time, then they got twisted even more going from KDE 3 to Qt 4. We render the pixmap in black and white grayscale first, then do some kind of transformation on it to colorize it, and it can't just be a random color, but has to be something defined somewhere, and passed around 15 dozen times. The last time I did something of this general nature, it was either refactor a ton of code or add a new parameter to like a dozen different functions to pass something new around far enough to get it from A to B, and I contributed to the problem by doing the latter. I'm afraid I haven't looked at any of that in a good number of years, and don't know how to do it off the top of my head. ack (known as ack-grep in Debian and its derivatives) is your friend. -- D.
