It's very simple, see the README:

    mkdir build
    cd build
    cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=[PREFIX] [-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug]
    make
    make install

All the complications recently mentionned on this list were just initial 
hickups,
you won't hit any of these, given that they all have been fixed.
