That is quite old (5 years old), and doesn't have the CMAKE_AUTOMOC feature, so
supporting cmake 2.8.2 would make the build system harder to maintain.

Is there no way to upgrade that?
Compiling cmake from a tarball or from git is quite easy.
http://www.cmake.org/files/v3.3   (pick cmake 3.3.2 while at it)
or git clone git://cmake.org/cmake.git
