If you want to escalate with Ubuntu, the details are here: https://sourceforge.net/p/rosegarden/bugs/1537/ The Ubuntu kernel team would be most interested in the kernel bug report here: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=177571 One of the comments there indicates that fiddling with the timer source helped.
