Hello,

I noticed that when a channel is destroyed, two different events can be
raised : ChannelDestroyed and ChannelHangupRequest. These two events
seem to be mutually exclusive : if I receive a ChannelHangupRequest, I
will never receive a ChannelDestroyed, and vice versa.

This behaviour does not look consistent with the documentation, which
states : "ChannelDestroyed : Notification that a channel has been
destroyed". So I would expect a ChannelDestroyed event to be raised each
time a channel is actually destroyed.

Is it a bug ?

We'd need to know the specific scenarios under which you are doing
things to know if it's a bug or not. It is reasonable to expect that
ChannelDestroyed is always present, but it depends. I'd also suggest
using the app-dev mailing list[1] in the future as its focus is more
ARI.
Thank you Joshua, I was not aware of this mailing list. I will describe
the precise scenario as soon as I have free time.

Re: [asterisk-users] CentOS7: How to debug SEGV when asterisk starts with autoload=yes ?

2017-06-12 Thread Olivier
Hi,

I think I was (once more) tricked by SELinux's enforce mode.
Changing it to permissive improved things.

Anyway, as I would like to learn more about strace, SELinux and Asterisk
module loading, I'll leave this thread "open"
and append my findings, in couple of days, when I'll be back from a
business trip.

Shouldn't you just ask the provider?

But not being German, the only problem I know of is the ISDN
sub addressing feature widely in use.

Looking at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Germany
I'd guess a dialplan would be (assuming the operator wants e164+):

exten => _1.,1,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN}@provider)
exten => _[2-9].,1,Goto(+49xyz${EXTEN:1},1)
exten => _0[1-9].,1,Goto(+49${EXTEN:1},1)
exten => _00[1-9].,1,Goto(+${EXTEN:2},1)

exten => _+.,1,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN}@provider)

I forgot to mention the main thing: I initially used *two* trunks (and
one number), one "normal" trunk and another trunk_fax additionally
enabling udptl. Outbound not a problem - but inbound used the normal
trunk - this can't work. Merging both trunks to one trunk has been the
solution, which isn't a problem with udptl, because it's initially
handled by the extension (t38modem). That's why I came across line
option for the other provider I'm using and which wasn't that easy to
use with FreePBX, because it is not yet directly supported and
pjsip.registration_custom_post.conf unfortunately doesn't work (I'm not
the only one experiencing this problem). Therefore I'm using now a trick
which works especially for the registration problem within FreePBX as
long as it isn't supported natively.

Thanks,
Michael

[asterisk-users] German sip dial rules

2017-06-12 Thread Hans-Peter Jansen
Hi,

is somebody attending, that wants to share his outgoing dial rules of
extension.conf, like used in typical(?) german pbx setups?

 * zero prefix for outside calls
 * zero zero or plus prefix for international calls
 * handle emergency calls

With ISDN, one was able to just forward the called number, but with sip, one
has to normalize the dialed pattern in order to match SIP (provider)
expectations... As always, the devil is in the details.

Thanks,
Pete

2017-06-12 Thread Rusty Newton
We've seen this issue in the past on and off with a variety of random
users. We were never able to pinpoint the issue.

We'll look into it again and see if we can find anything new. I've created
a JIRA issue to track the issue for the moment.
https://issues.asterisk.org/jira/browse/ASTERISK-27049

Any further comments or information should go on that issue. Thanks!

Never a good idea. Disable half for starters. Then disable/enable half
of the remaining, etc.

3. strace -eopen asterisk -U asterisk -c

IIRC the message that Asterisk prints for loading a module is only
printed after the module is loaded, and hence you need strace.

[asterisk-users] ARI events : ChannelDestroyed and ChannelHangupRequest

2017-06-12 Thread Jean Aunis

Best regards

Jean Aunis

[asterisk-users] CentOS7: How to debug SEGV when asterisk starts with autoload=yes ?

2017-06-12 Thread Olivier
Hello,

I was tasked to install Asterisk 13.16.0. from source on a CentOS7 platform.

For that purpose, I used an unmaintened script of mine, written 10 monthes
ago, and I was surprised to get segmentation violations whenever I ran
"asterisk -cvvv -U asterisk".

Usually, my /etc/asterisk/modules.conf file includes "autoload=yes" setting.

Basically, I see two alternative methods:

1. leave "autoload=yes and remove modules one by one in modules.conf.
When segmentation violations stops, then focus on latest disabled module.

2.set "autoload=no and add modules one by one in modules.conf.
When segmentation violations starts, then focus on latest enabled module.

I've not decided yet which method I should use but I must add here that I'm
very suprised to observe things like bellow:

*CLI> module show
Module Description Use
Count Status Support Level
res_pjsip.so Basic SIP resource
0 Not Running core
1 modules loaded
*CLI> module unload res_pjsip.so
Unable to unload resource res_pjsip.so
Command 'module unload res_pjsip.so' failed.
*CLI> module
loadreload showunload
*CLI> module show
Module Description Use
Count Status Support Level
res_pjsip.so Basic SIP resource
0 Not Running core
1 modules loaded
*CLI> module unload res_pjsip.so
Unable to unload resource res_pjsip.so
Command 'module unload res_pjsip.so ' failed.
*CLI> module reload res_pjsip.so
The module 'res_pjsip.so' was not properly initialized. Before reloading
the module, you must run "module load res_pjsip.so" and fix whatever is
preventing the module from being initialized.
*CLI> module load res_pjsip.so
Unable to load module res_pjsip.so
Command 'module load res_pjsip.so' failed.
*CLI> module show
Module Description Use
Count Status Support Level
res_pjsip.so Basic SIP resource
0 Not Running core
1 modules loaded

Form full file:
...
2017-06-12 10:15:05] WARNING[1649] loader.c: Unload failed, 'res_pjsip.so'
is not loaded.

My questions are:
1. When autoload=yes, if module foo.so depens on bar.so, does loading of
foo.so also loads bar.so ?

2. How shall I understand the above load/unload/reload sequence ?

3. I'm inclined to load modules one by one and set autoload=no, but I would
like to be 100% sure to avoid runtime errors due to missing module/config
file/dependency/whatever. What would you suggest ?

Me too, also gmail. I emailed the list owner a couple of days ago, but no reply.

Is everyone else affected also forwarding to another email address
(gmail or not)?

Could be wrong, but I'm guessing there may be an incorrect DMARC
policy somewhere - although this is the only fail I could find in the
headers.

See my DMARC thread message:
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2017-June/291545.html

Any DMARCed domain used for sending will cause bounces for recipients on
platforms that check and honor the DMARC configuration.

There may ofcourse be other causes.

I am also getting this, three or four times in the last month after years
of no problems.

I agree that Gmail is the likely common factor, but I would love to have
access to these bounce messages to know whether it is actually an
overly-paranoid list server!
