FYI, even though one of my talks was accepted, I had to cancel this
conference and I will not be there. :-(

 The CfP in English:

OpenExpo, the Swiss conference and trade show for Free and Open Source
Software, takes place for the 5th time Wednesday and Thursday September
 24 and 25, 2008 at the Eulachhallen in Winterthur/Zürich.

As a community meeting point and industrial exhibition OpenExpo has
become THE date in Switzerland's Open Source agenda. /ch/open and the
business IT trade show topsoft are inviting to submit speeches, project
presentations and company stands, all to be proposed until Tuesday May
20, 2008. The final schedule will be published in June 2008. After the
fourth OpenExpo was a great success in terms of visitor numbers and
focus on government issues, the fall edition 2008 will concentrate on
innovation and production processes in leading Open Source projects -
for example with Hackontest, the new 24 hour programming competition to
be introduced at OpenExpo as a premiere.

 1. Rückblick OpenExpo 2008 Bern
 *
zuvor in Zürich.

Bereits konnten erneut namhafte Redner fürs Konferenzprogramm gewonnen

FYI I have submitted two talks for openexpo.ch, one along the lines of
my ApacheCon EU talk [1], and another one on Sling basics. I also told
Matthias that this might be material for an Apache track (I know him
back from the http://lots.openexpo.ch days).

I'd be interested in participating. Should we just throw CfPs at them or
should we coordinate Apache CfPs beforehand? :-)

Coincidently, I ran into the CfP of German openexpo.de (ends April 30th)
some days ago. This event seems to be related to the swiss one. I think
the ASF should represent there, too! (And if the organizers are
hard/sym-linked with each other, we can test run for Winterthur (very
nice city!). My intention was to submit a talk about the ASF in general
there.

BTW, what about an ASF booth at both events? The ASF should be more
visible at events like these! This is a [EMAIL PROTECTED] thing, right?

yes it's good to keep them informed but PRC is a closed list with
limited subscription. IMHO subjects like this are best discussed in
public.

IMHO apache is now big enough to start creating a voluntary list of
committers who are willing to represent apache on a per country basis.
maybe people.apache.org could help...

FWIW, I submitted two connected talk proposals to openexpo.ch (Shindig
and OpenSocial), if one or both are accepted, I will be around. :-)
