[HS] Un petit soucis avec qpopper...
Bonjour, J'ai actuellement configuré un DNS et un POSTFIX sur une machine virtuelle pour m'entrainer, j'ai résolu un certain nombre de soucis notammeent avec l'installation d'Amavis/clamav. Il me reste qu'un seul message d'erreur dans mes logs : DebianMX in.qpopper[7749]: Unable to open bulletin directory '/var/spool/popbull': No such file or directory (2) [pop_log.c:244] Vu qu'apparement, il y'a rien a configuré pour qpopper, j'aimerais savoir d'où ça pourrait venir. Je pense qu'il faut surement changer le dans un fichier de config le répertoire par défaut qui doit être /var/spool/popbull par le bon répertoire ou il doit y avoir le bulletin...je sais pas trop. J'ai créé le répertoire manquant a la main ca ne change absolument rien, j'ai désinstaller/réinstaller qpopper, c'était encore pire... Pour info, le mail a l'air de bien s'envoyer mais impossible de le réceptionner sur la boite du destinataire... Si quelqu'un a une petite idée :) J'avais eu ce souci, j'ai fait mkdir /var/spool/popbull/ puis chown mail.root /var/spool/popbull ça avait fonctionné. Vérifie les droits du répertoire crée. Trouver le hostname d'une autre machine à partir d e son ip
Bonjour, J'essaie, via un script dans /etC/network/if-up.d/ de voir si une machine existe sur le lan, et si oui, faire des actions. Pour l'instant, j'arrive à faire un ping sur l'adresse de la machine et voir s'il y a quelque chose à cette adresse ip. Mais j'aimerais trouver, si le test du ping est bon, une information qui me permette de dire que la machine est bien celle que je pense. Je pensais essayer de récupérer le hostname à partir de l'adresse ip, mais je n'y arrive pas. Quelqu'un pourrait-il me dire comment faire? Problème grub suite à maj du noyaux
Bonjour, Je crois que j'ai fais une petite bétise en rebootant mon serveur sans regarder si le noyaux avait été correctement mis à jour. En rebootant j'ai eu la surprise de voir grub me dire You need to load the kernel first après sélection du kernel. Cette erreur est présente pour chaque kernel disponible, donc plus possible de booter mon serveur. Je viens d'insérer un livecd d'ubuntu qui trainait (merci canonical pour les cd gratos), et je suis loggué en ssh au serveur, je suis en train de chercher comment activer le lvm car je suppose que je vais devoir chrooter l'environnement. Je l'avais fais il y a un moment mais j'ai complètement oublié depuis. J'ai réussi à activer le volume raid c'est déjà ça. Plus exactement, il y a un bug actuellement : si l'on a une partition séparée pour /boot, il faut supprimer le /boot précédant la ligne qui contient /vmlinuz-2.6.xx. Désolé pour l'indélicatesse et merci pour l'info. J'ai recréé un nouveau mail cette fois-ci. ensuite, j'avoue ne pas comprendre la démarche. Le nom qu'on obtiendra à partir de l'adresse IP (a priori via une requête PTR dans le DNS) sera toujours le même, que la machine soit la bonne ou pas. Le DNS n'a rien à voir avec la vérité ou l'erreur, c'est juste une table de correspondance. Pour savoir si c'est la « bonne » machine, il n'y a pas d'autre solution que de s'y connecter (par exemple en SSH qui, contrairement à IP, a une notion d'identité). Le pourquoi de ses complications (ouch, désolé pour la longue lecture.. et merci): Ce lan est utilisé par plusieurs groupes de gens. Pour un de ses groupes, j'aimerais mettre en place un serveur de fichiers avec partage nfs4 et samba + autentification kerberos + un openvpn pour l'accès depuis l'extérieur. Il doit rester ouvert à des personnes extérieures qui viennent avec leur laptop se connecter sur le réseau et qui doivent pouvoir accéder à certains dossier partagés (je pourrai pensé à un auto-(dé)montage de partage via mon script). Lorsqu'un nouveau laptop se connecte, je gèrerai moi-même les options d'accès sur le serveur et lui n'aura que le script à éxécuter. Et donc une seule intervention sera nécessaire et puis ça re-fonctionnera à chaque fois. Le serveur, il sera allumé pendant leurs heures de boulot et quelques fois quand ils travailleront d'ailleurs. Donc, pas tout le temps. C'est surtout le fait qu'il y ait d'autres entités sur le lan, qui doivent l'utiliser en cohabitation avec moi, qui crée des problèmes. - Je ne peux pas arrêter le serveur dhcp du routeur et installer le mien - je ne peux pas changer les options du serveur dhcp du routeur pour qu'il envoi le bon nameserver et l'option search. Sinon, les autres groupes n'auront plus l'accès à internet quand il sera éteint. J'ai joué aussi avec l'option 'rotate' mais cela s'est avéré pas totalement fiable.. et je n'ai pas trouvé pour ceux qui sont sous windows l'équivalent de cette option. Donc, maintenant, j'en suis à essayer un script qui se lance automatiquement (if-up.d/) et qui mette les bonnes infos dans le resolv.conf. Mais, ce qui est important, c'est que ce script ne gêne pas lorsque ses laptops vont se connecter ailleurs. C'est pour ça que j'essaie d'identifier de manière la plus absolue possible si mon serveur est présent sur le lan sur lequel on vient de se connecter. Si j'ai choisi d'installer mon serveur Dns, c'est que kerberos semble préféré avoir un domaine pour fonctionner (plus facilement?). J'ai eu des problèmes lors de mes essais sans domaine sur mon lan, c'est pourquoi je me suis lancé. - Concrètement: Lorsqu'il se connecte sur le lan, il se retrouve avec un resolv.conf: nameserver 172.19.3.1 Si le script trouve mon serveur, il modifie le resolv.conf selon mes besoins, càd: search mondomaine nameserver 172.19.3.3 nameserver 172.19.3.1 Comme au départ, il ne connait pas mon serveur Dns. Il ne peut donc pas résoudre son nom via une commande nslookup ou host. C'est la màj du resolv.conf qui justement le permettra. Si je n'ai que le nameserver 172.19.3.1, un: - nslookup 172.19.3.3 me renvoie: ** server can't find 3.3.19.172.in-addr.arpa.: NXDOMAIN - host 172.19.3.3 me renvoie: Host 3.3.19.172.in-addr.arpa. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN) J'ai vu aussi nmblookup, pour récupérer le nom netbios, mais cela implique que le client a samba d'installé.. J'ai réussi entre temps à monter le disque système dans mon live cd, mais je n'arrive pas à chrooter de toute façon (erreur - chroot: ne peut exécuter la commande `/bin/bash': Erreur de format pour exec() ) donc il va faloir faire autrement. L'avantage, c'est que comme c'est une clé usb, je peux avoir directement accès à la partition /boot depuis un autre pc, et j'ai pu constater que le fichier device.map était effectivement renseigné avec des /dev/sdX plutôt qu'avec des uuid, ce qui aurait peut-être évité le problème (enfin j'en sais rien, je sais même pas si on peut utiliser les chemins uuid à la place dans ce fichier, google ne dit rien de clair là dessus). Je n'arrive à rien, il n'y a rien que je puisse modifier dans la
partition /boot, le problème semble bien venir du fait qu'au moment de
la mise à jour de grub, celui-ci ai été corrompu par le fait que la clé
usb qui héberge /boot était visiblement monté dans un autre chemin que

Peut-être à cause du live cd ubuntu ? Si je n'arrive pas à réparer grub

Il semble que cette méthode ne soit pas parfaite non plus. Il doit y avoir bien mieux pour faire des requêtes de type rarp mais je n'utilise pas ce genre de technique tous les jours. Je n'ai pas de /boot dans le menu justement. Ils sont idem que dans le grub.cfg que j'ai copié dans un message un peu plus haut. Si tu connais l'adresse Ethernet au préalable mais que tu veux par
exemple trouver l'ip qui lui corresponde tu peux utiliser le cache
arp. Normalement dans chaque machine le cache arp devrait contenir une
correspondance DNS/IP/Ethernet des différents pc avec lequel il à
récemment communiqué.
C'est bien vérifier qu'à une adresse Ip, toujours la même, correspond
une adresse Eth.
Donc juste un arp 172.19.3.3 est nickel
Mais tu peux faire des interrogations à ta guise avec arping par exemple :
arping -c 1 -i eth0 00:1a:a0:3a:ad:b4
puis
arp -a | grep 00:1a:a0:3a:ad:b4

arp fonctionne très bien, jusqu'à présent, excepté le petit délai qu'il
génère, mais bon, cela me convient bien tel quel.
La connexion réseau ne se fait pas toutes les 5 min non plus.
Je viens de faire quelques tests sur un desktop lenny et un laptop
ubuntu 9.04) avec mon nouveau script, et je dois dire que ça fonctionne
à merveille des 2 côtés.
J'ai débranché, rebranché, le cable, le wi-fi, tout fonctionne :)
Un vrai bonheur.
Juste que j'ai du ajouter un ping avant ma commande arp sinon elle
renvoyait unknown host à chaque fois.
J'ai mis mon script en bas du mail pour ceux que cela pourrait intéresser.

Hola lista, Estuve probando algunos programas como kdenlive para armar videos simples, con transiciones, musica de fondo, etc Me preguntaba si no existe algun programa que permita hacer este tipo de cosas pero de forma no interactiva. Quizas usando algun archivo de descripcion. Por ejemplo que pueda especificar el tiempo de cada clip, los efectos de transicion entre los mismos, etc Creo que asi seria mas exacta la edicion, porque de manera interactiva hay muchas cosas que se hacen 'a ojo'. El árbol de rutas no es correcto porque todo lo busca en directorios del sistema cuando los archivos están dentro de /usr/local/mysql/ En este caso el archivo errmsg.sys esta en /usr/local/mysql/idioma y el lo busca en /user/share/english y /usr/share/mysql/english. Puedo bajar el volumen desde el programa que ejecuto, pero en los distintos mezcladores no funciona nada. Al probar otras tarjetas estas no aperecen al hacer el lspci en la maquina sid virtual. Hola a todos, Esta tarde, cuanto llegue a casa, encontré el pc colgado. Lo apagué e intenté reiniciar pero a hora se queda en el arranque y muestra los siguientes mensajes init[1]: segfault at 804d38c ip 0004d38c sp bfc3d160 error 4 Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init No tengo ni idea y tampoco es muy orientativa la información que he encontrado en Google. ¿Se puede arreglar o simplemente reinstalo el so? Cosas raras después de un smart upgrade
¡Hola! Buscando los programas que me habían sugerido para los discos duros me encontré que tenía una mescolanza bárbara en la sources.list. Decidí poner orden pasando todo el sistema a testing. Anoche hice smart upgrade y actualicé un montón de cosas. Los pocos problemas que quedaron los solventé hoy a la mañana. El tema ahora es que me surgieron dos cosas: =Las sticky notes de Gnome supuestamente están instaladas pero explotan cada vez que quiero hacer una. =Al arrancar el sistema me tira mensajes de advertencia sobre udev. Dice que no está funcionando o que podría funcionar mal. No entiendo qué pasa y ya no sé por dónde buscar. No sé si es algún bug conocido o es un tema peculiar de mi máquina o que hice algo mal. Si esto te ha pasado después de una actualización, entra con un cd live y mira si en /var/cache/apt tienes paquetes de los kernels anteriores, igual puedes instalar alguno desde un chroot como te indican en el hilo. Tome la desición de volver a instalar el sistema operativo ya que no encontraba más información sobre los mensajes de error que se me habían mostrado así que intenté arrancar un livecd de Ubuntu para acceder a los discos y recuperar la información. Pero, por sorpresa, al arrancar el livecd se produjerón los mismos errores. Observando el mensaje me pareció que se mostraban direcciónes así que saque todos los módulos de memoria excepto uno y volví a arrancar el livecd... ¡ya está! ¡Arreglado! Parece que uno de los módulos de memoria estaba pillado. Gracias por la ayuda. Si hay alguna otra forma de comprobar si está bien instalado un paquete no la conozco. Si alguien desea iluminarme, lo agradezco. Como sticky notes uso precisamente sticky notes. Es un minúsculo applet de Gnome que viene en el paquete de applets de Gnome. El único parecido es KNotes, aunque es un poquito más complicado de lo que yo pretendo. Voy a ver qué pasa en una semana. No estoy diciendo que las alertas de udev no tengan importancia, sino que hay
un reporte actual de unas alertas provocadas por una configuración de hplip que
no tienen importancia. Para saber si tu problemas es el mismo tendrías que
decir cuáles son las alertas que te aparecen, o fijarte si son parecidas a esta
udevd[8055]: SYSFS{}= will be removed in a future udev version, please
use ATTR{}= to match the event device, or ATTRS{}= to match a parent
device, in /lib/udev/rules.d/56-hpmud_support.rules:10
Por el momento, es solo una advertencia, no un error.

Uso o kernel padrão 2.6.30-2 do repositório testing. Por enquanto não compilei o kernel. A placa de som aqui é a Realtek ALC662 rev1 (segundo informação do alsamixer). O único problema que estava tendo era com o kaffeine, ocorrendo que sempre que eu executava um video no firefox (um vídeo do youtube, por exemplo) e depois ia tocar um vídeo ou aúdio no kaffeine, o som simplesmente não funcionava. Consertei isso ao mudar nas configurações do kaffeine o driver de auto (que usava o pulseaudio) para alsamixer. Com isso, o som agora funciona adequadamente para mim. Primeiro quero esclarecer que este problema não é exclusivo da distribuição debian, testei com outras e acontece o mesmo. Tenho um router wireless D-Link 714P+ e conecto alguns pc e um laptop. Neste laptop, tem uma placa wireless ralink rt73, que desde o kernel 2.6.26 eu acho, traz o driver rt73usb. A placa do laptop roda tranquila, mas o sinal está fraco, mesmo próximo do router (3 metros) ele não ultrapassa os 47%. Observação, instalei o windows para testar e sinal fica excelente, mesmo se estiver a 30 metros do router. Pelo que acontece no windows, observei que não é problema de hardware, pois funciona normalmente. Mas com o debian (ou mesmo outra distro) o sinal fica fraco, só conecta se estiver no mesmo cômodo que o router. Uso este laptop há 2 anos com linux e até uns 4 meses atrás estava normal a conexão, mas agora tive que criar um dualboot, usando o windows qdo estiver longe do router e o linux qdo estiver próximo. Alguma sugestão para este fato? Obrigado. ps. AAC audio encoding through faac in Squeeze
Hello list, Having added debian -multimedia to my /etc/apt/sources.list I experimented to see whether I had native support for most audio codecs and encoders. Running the popular audio format conversion program 'soundconverter' I realized I wasn't able to encode into AAC format, even though I had the 'faac' program installed within my system. I then googled a bit and installed another package from the relevant debian - multimedia page ( http://debian-multimedia.org/dists/stable/main/binary-alpha/package/faac.php) yet still I have no luck with AAC. so I have a DynDNS domain, that I have pointed to my router, and I want to make a mail server for that, to test with, get it setup, then I can move my REAL domain to it... All I want is a simple setup, 2-3 users, just to test incoming ( and outgoing) emails to a dnydns domain. Good advice. ;-) I agree, except that, if I understood correctly, he already has the CPU (though I disregarded this in my own post). So he would want a motherboard he can use with his Opteron. The question of dual-core vs. 4-core has been raised; with i7, you get potentially the best of both with turbo boost. It is capable of shutting down unused coes while speeding up in-use ones to keep power/thermal dissipation within the spec'ed envelope. This works well IME, although I don't know if it has kernel support in Linux or Debian (or whether it requires it.) What's the alternative? Have they found another resource to make batteries from? I read some blurbs and articles about work with zinc-air. Apparently, some of the problems with zinc-air have been solved. Zinc-air is known to have an energy density about twice that of lithium, but is still much safer. Zinc is also more abundant and cheaper than lithium. A very good and almost-completely-untapped-thus-far source for lithium is in South America, and the zinc-air design is still to be proven, so I wouldn't count lithium out yet, however. I don't think there is an automated way to apt-get install bob, while pulling in sam from stable and fred from testing. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Apt is going to try to meet the dependency. I wish it would, but it doesn't and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. As far as I can see it ALWAYS goes for the the higher priority version even if that won't meet the dependency. apt-get install -t testing bob would work on my Debian Lenny system. However, I don't have stable and testing pinned in preferences. I have in my apt.conf: APT::Default-Release stable; This effectively pins stable to 990. I also tend to use aptitude. I wonder if it'll behave any differently if you use aptitude instead of apt-get. Your safest bet is using the ACPI /proc interface: # cat /proc/acpi/video/VID/LCD/brightness levels: 0 6 13 20 26 33 40 46 53 60 66 73 80 86 93 100 current: 46 # echo 100 /proc/acpi/video/VID/LCD/brightness Chances are xbacklight won't support your LCD. It's hardly used these days. Just write a simple up/down script and attach it to some hotkey-action (via window manager cfg) or some extra/media HW button (via ACPI scripts). Thank you. Hi, I was just try to convert .mp3 in .flac. I did it with Audacity on Debian Squeeze. Song .flac run in VLC and Amarok. How to compiling Boost 1.41 into .deb packages?
Hi, Because I want (actually need) the Boost package 1.41 I must compile it myself as there is no Boost 1.41 (yet) in Debian testing (or sid). I really want to use Debian packages for better maintenance of my (installed) software, but I cannot get the software compiled into deb packages. compiled tsocks not working, how to debug
Hello. I've installed tsocks from package repository and is working fine. Except I had to resolve domain name on the remote end, which is not satisfied. Reading tsocks man page I realized I had to compile tsocks on my own with configuration options --enable-socksdns and --disable-hostnames in order to make tsocks resolve domain name remotely, so I did it, after removed tsocks package. Connecting to www.g.cn|203.208.37.99|:80... netstat -t shows this: $ netstat -t | grep socks tcp0 1 localhost:42899 localhost:socks SYN_SENT Naturally I doubt the socks server is broken (it is actually ssh -D 1080 ...), but it works fine with Firefox configured to use socks proxy, it also worked fine with Debian-packaged tsocks. And, if the configuration is in effect, being able to resolve domain showed connection to socks server is OK. I am not experienced in networking stuff, so I wonder what would you do from here. Overhearing socks traffic? Or report a bug? I should have discussed this on tsocks forum but having noticed there are about 2 posts per year and some questions gets unanswered (e.g. is the development stopped?) for years, I think I might try luck at OS-distribution's list. Configuration problem of two NIC

It may be your glib, but you didn't say if this also happens when using
just POSIX API (basic libc). If it's affected too, your system is borked
on a lower level. What you report is impossible unless there is a
serious bug (or rather data corrution) somewhere.
I'm attaching a piece of code, same as yours except pure libc instead of
glib. Please, try it out and let me know whether it has the same issues.
After that, I'd make sure all relevant packages in your system are
up-to-date and not corrupted. You may want to refresh these:
# apt-get update
# apt-get install --reinstall libc6 tzdata libglib2.0-0 libglib2.0-data
When we're sure relevant libraries are OK, we can explore other
possibilities if the issue persists. I doubt it will after this action,
unless, of course, you have some very peculiar configuration I cannot
imagine somewhere. :)

The POSIX variant result would be important - it would tell us it's not
Glib related. There would be less stuff to check with just libc/tzdata.
BUT, I made a typo in posix.c, which *could* in effect randomize the
zone part of the input iso date. So, first of all - use this new one,
recompile and try again. If it'll work fine, then the issue has been
solved by refreshing those packages. It would mean that some of the
files form your previous tzdata were corrupted.
However, if the issue remains - read on...
I want to see if there's any difference between Linux tzdata and pure
POSIX TZ specification and between our tool and the standard date(1)
command. I need you to run this:

Me too, I've never seen this.
From your description the issue seems random. 10 commands executed
almost at the same time return different times. There must be something
screwing your time zone data, resp. data files. That would fit with your
chroot tests - my new test with two different TZ setting methods would
reveal it (one is using tzdata's files, the other does not).
When I look at the results, I'll know where to move next. I'll probably
let you run it again in a single-user mode (e.g. adding kernel param
init=/bin/sh via lilo/grub boot menu), to eliminate stuff like ntpd
and other possibly mischievous processes.
