[Bug 441982] [NEW] Totem don't play video with subtitles in certain conditions
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem On Ubuntu 9.10 Totem freezes when play video with subtitle, it only freezes when you use nautilus to open video or if you pass file name as parameter when call Totem. When you call (theres a video.srt on same dir): # totem video.avi Totem open, freezes and you got this message on terminal: (totem:6021): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: value 10752000 of type `guint' is invalid or out of range for property `connection-speed' of type `guint' If you open Totem without any parameter and them go to menu and open same video everything works well, it also works well if you delete the subtitle . [Bug 441998] [NEW] Cannot browse through pictures using Next button
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eog Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to a folder with multiple pictures (at least three) 2. Click on the 1st one, Eye of Gnome will open with that picture. 3. Click on Next and DO NOT MOVE THE MOUSE The second picture will appear and the Next button looks like unselected 4. WITHOUT MOVING THE MOUSE click on Next ... Nothing happens ... instead of third picture being displayed 5. Move mouse a little bit and Next button looks like selected again 6. Click on Next The third pictures appears. [Bug 290703] Re: ssh connection should open the user directory by default
Patrick I see your viewpoint, but there is little more depth in this issue. As far as I know SFTP is recommended by Ubuntu as a secure method to put files to the server. It is very visible in the default setup of the system. Alternatives like FTP and WebDAV surely aren't better... so it is basically drawing a like what's Average Joe and what's not - I see remote copying of files as normal task which you might encounter in your studies and at least in your company work. But this indeed does not matter. Hints how to solve this bug SFTP and GVFS are welcome. [Bug 290703] Re: ssh connection should open the user directory by default
Actually the bug is not as simple as you might think. It would be trivial to fix Nautilus/GVFS to map the URL sftp://mi...@something.com to sftp://mi...@something.com/home/mikko. However this violates the URI specification RFC r3986 as discussed in the upstream https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=561998 sftp://mi...@something.com should be same as sftp://mi...@something.com/ which is effective the server root folder. Command-line SFTP does not respect URI specification in the first place. The suggested fix was to have sftp://mi...@something.com to do a SFTP specific redirect to sftp://mi...@something.com/home/mikko. -- ssh connection should open the user directory by default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Has anyone seen the services GUI used by Fedora? It's pretty nice, much better than services-admin. I don't know if it works with upstart, but if so, maybe we could just use that. It was hard-coded for some particular services, rather than providing a general interface for manipulating any services the user may have installed. [Bug 442148] [NEW] too long default delay before suspending screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager I saw that the screen will be suspended after 30 minutes of inactivity. [Bug 442163] [NEW] Dell Inspiron 510m freezes when lid is closed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Regression bug in 9.10 beta. Dell Inspiron 510m freezes when lid is closed. It worked fine on previous ubuntu versions. [Bug 351122] Re: gthumb doesn't work with gphoto (was please disable gphoto2 backend for Jaunty)
I have a Canon SD 550 which Ubuntu recognizes by its European name, Digital Ixus 750 (PTP mode). I did experience this bug for a while, but it has been working correctly for some time now in Jaunty. The problem is a regression in 32 bit Karmic alpha 6. I have to unmount the camera from the desktop before importing the pictures with gthumb or I get the device locked... dialog. It does work correctly if I try to use Fspot as the import tool, but I don't use that app to manage my pictures. I am currently downloading the Karmic 32 bit desktop beta and will try that to see if the regression has been resolved. -- gthumb doesn't work with gphoto (was please disable gphoto2 backend for Jaunty) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351122 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gthumb in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 433701] Re: services-admin should be disabled
Correct me if I'm wrong (it's hard to get details on system-config- services on the Web), but I don't believe the Fedora tool brings us much more than we have (or could easily have). It seems to work only with traditional init scripts, and does not seems to have very different features from services-admin. The problem about hard-coded services list is really silly, I guess I can fix that for the next release. Basically, the problem is that you can't get translated names and descriptions from random services, because scripts don't provide it. But we can easily translate known services, and show others in plain English. And if the matter is making the GUI nicer and make it present more informations, that should be quite easy to do, the framework is already present. -- services-admin should be disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/433701 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-system-tools in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 438266] Re: gdebi don´t work - invalid f ile descriptor
In Beta already corrected the problem. In a system I did a clean install, and two others, simply download the updates and in all cases this problem no longer exists. I installed Google Chrome and Opera, in the 32 and 64 bits, and I repeat, all right. -- gdebi don´t work - invalid file descriptor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438266 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vte in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
