Other than builds of ApacheOO 4.1.3 and 4.1.4 on Debian
Jessie(Stable), Stretch(Testing), and Sid(Unstable) -- yielding
DEBS/RPMS built with en-US, de, and ru language support -- I don't
have experience as a 'release manager'. On the other hand, I am always
willing to learn -- especially if no one more experienced, with more
certitude (and famous) volunteers for the task -- as I don't want
AOO's potential to stagnate.

AOO in Enlightenment:

Notwithstanding, I have become somewhat annoyed that a build
requirement libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-dev does not enable AOO to
embed media like *.mp4 < https://metztli.it/blog/index.php/aH9?blog=4
> -- I *assume* that libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-dev will fulfill
that need:

Please note that I have not built AOO from trunk, so maybe the issue
immediately above has already been resolved -- or not.

Best Professional Regards.

P.S. As a 'crabby hacker' (not coder ;-) I don't pretend to be
'likeable' by everyone; and my volunteering offer above is based on
the assumption that no major life altering event disturbs me from the
task at hand --early on or towards the end of the release -- as I
would not be able to continue, say, from Crimea, Russia ;-D

Also, the .it at the end of my domain stands for Information
Technology -- I am not 'Italian' and only have a circumstantial
business relation to that country ;-)

Yes, it seems stuck indeed. I expected Ariel to target mid-February for
the release. I can still help building on Linux. 4.1.4 was (still is)
supposed to be a maintenance release just to push some bugfixes for 4.1.3.

Can you please reconsider releasing 4.2.0?

Nothing forbids to plan for 4.2.0 already now. We don't need to release
4.1.4 before thinking about 4.2.0. If someone is available to be a
Release Manager for 4.2.0, things can go on in parallel. I honestly
think we will want to "release" (in the sense of making available
somehow) a beta of 4.2.0 too, so work in that direction can start
already now.

  Andrea.

Thanks, I will ask them if they can update the Open Hub stats...

In the meantime I began to modify the pages.

And maybe I get new translations for the Korean page for the weekend. ;-)

Kind regards, Matthias

Maybe it's also good to change the focus, so first the graphs and
below them the text. As the most interesting part is - of course
 - the
numbers and not the explaining text I would see this as another
improvement. So, you can see the numbers without the need to
 scroll.

IMHO Ariel und Jim should have an account for Open Hub.

Request to contribute documentation on accessibility

2017-03-13 Thread Sam Peck
Hi everyone.

We just wanted to discuss contributing documentation in the form of "how-to"
guidance that helps people/instructors create accessible content from Open
Office authored files for anyone/students.

We thought it might be helpful to contribute content that would appear
somewhere amongst your on-line user guidance, so Google might pick up questions
being asked by anyone who might require the guidance documentation, and
possibly feature the answer in search results. Much like if you searched for
“save as tagged pdf using Microsoft word 2016”. This does work for the question
“Saving as tagged PDF using OpenOffice”. Only, coming from an Open Office
online resource, while structured better might make more an impact and trusted
if sourced from an Open Office URL.

We have a few flows that are written and edited to start from. Is this
something you would be interested in see us contribute?

Thank you,
Sam
