There has been one mention today on the en-Forum of the old version of
PDFImport not working on AOO 4.0. This posting is at
http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21t=63026
and to be helpful I have pointed the poster to the revised versions on Ariel's

Re: Building the PDF Import extension

2013-07-21 Thread Max Merbald

Hi Andrea,

in my case it doesn't work. I'm using Win 8 64 bit and when I installed
the extension I got this message:

loading component libraray failed: (follows the address where the file
pdfimport.uno.dll was supposed to be found)

...
AppData/Roaming/Openoffice/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/sv62pr81.tmp_/oracle-pdfimport-1/pdfimport.uno.dll

sounds like an unusual link. And thus, I cannot import pdf files on AOO
4 at this time. I've been using RC1.

I also tried building PDF Import by configuring (release tag) with
./configure --enable-category-b ... --enable-pdfimport
--with-system-poppler
and this produces main/solver/400/.../bin/pdfimport/pdfimport.oxt
which works (probably on my system only).

Then I tried with only (i.e., no system poppler)
./configure --enable-category-b ... --enable-pdfimport
but this didn't produce anything.

Do we have some inconsistencies in the configure options? And what is
the right way to build pdfimport in a portable way? Honestly I
believe that, even if due to license constraints this cannot be
formally released by the project, it will be easier that someone
individually releases an updated version on the Extensions site rather
than explaining all of the above to random users...

Regards,
  Andrea.

I have tested it with AOO 4 RC2 under Win 7 Pro x64, installed for all
users. Tests OK.
