In any case that reminds me, if I were the one organizing it, I'd probably just remove those nasty comments from the announcement page or I'd use them as an opportunity to point out that man are also welcome. Re: Your First Open Source contribution - Workshop
Hi Tomer and all, I am mostly aware of the HackNights. The one I attended was not geared towards new contributors. I was not aware of other types of meetings. I also see the "Women do Open Source" event Lior runs. I don't know how could I cooperate with that given that I am not a woman. Any suggestions? I can and will include the link to that event in my announcement to the Code-Mavens in case some of the members prefer a women only event. The emphasis in the workshops I organize is cooperation, mutual help, and empathy towards the other participants. We work in pairs, triples, sometimes even more. Our events are gender neutral. regards Gabor On Sun, Jan 14, 2018 at 12:50 PM, Tomer Briskerwrote: > Hi Gabor, > > Thank you for the invitation! Re: Your First Open Source contribution - Workshop
Hi Gabor, Thank you for the invitation! Helping more people get started with Open Source is always great. I'm not sure if you are aware, but we (Hamakor) have been running similar meetups over the past couple of years - https://www.meetup.com/Open- Source-and-Free-Software-in-Israel/. We would be happy to cooperate with you in the future and work together to increase involvement in Open Source. Your First Open Source contribution - Workshop
hi there, so yes, I assume most of you on this list are regular Open Source contributors, but I also assume you have a lot of co-workers who are not. This is an opportunity to get them involved. On January 24th I am running a workshop in which I am helping people get through their first Open Source contribution. This is a language independent event. We don't even require people to know how to program. There are plenty of things people can contribute even if they don't know how to write code. RSVP here: https://www.meetup.com/Code-Mavens/events/246683264/ regards Gabor ___ Discussions mailing list Discussions@hamakor.org.il http://hamakor.org.il/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discussions
Re: call for perl devs: save Shutter...
2018-01-14 11:31 GMT+02:00 Nir Soffer: > > > On Sat, Jan 13, 2018 at 2:42 PM Shay Gover wrote: > >> י Spectacle מספק פיתרון חלקי ביחס ל- shutter. >>> >>> https://www.kde.org/applications/graphics/spectacle/ >>> ___ >>> Discussions mailing list >>> Discussions@hamakor.org.il >>> http://hamakor.org.il/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discussions >>> >> >> ___ >> Discussions mailing list >> Discussions@hamakor.org.il >> http://hamakor.org.il/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discussions > > ___ Discussions mailing list Discussions@hamakor.org.il http://hamakor.org.il/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discussions
