Hi All, As Tomas noted, DSpace.org was hijacked this morning. The site is now mostly back to normal, and we are working on fixing the holes that the hijacker/hacker seems to have taken advantage of. We also have had plans (for some time now) to upgrade the dspace.org site infrastructure to better avoid this sort of thing. [Dspace-tech] dspace.org offline for 5 days...
Apologies if this is the wrong list but I have been unable to load http://dspace.org since 16th of August- I get returned a server 500 http error. Firefox and Chrome just return a blank page but this is the message from IE: This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying. I have checked using the www.upordown.net site - is Dspace.org Up or Down? dspace.org is down! Does anyone have any information or know who to contact to see if the site will be up soon? I know sourceforge has a download of the latest source for dspace 1.8 in the meantime... Hi All, Heard from the folks that are managing/hosting our dspace.org site. We have been experiencing a few minor glitches (following a more major outage which happened over the weekend) with dspace.org. However, at this point, it seems like the site is up for many/most. I understand that the site was moved to a new host, or at least a new address. By now I would expect the DNS update to have propagated throughout the network, but apparently there are still pockets of outdated information. Here I have no problems, and the name resolves thus: mw...@mhw ~ $ getent hosts dspace.org 216.104.40.50 dspace.org If you get a different first octet, you're getting stale information from somewhere. -- Mark H. It's got an awfully big TTL (one week!) so if it wasn't lowered to 5min - 24 hours well before the IP change, I'd say that's the reason it seems to be propagating so slowly... I can only see the new record though, so that's just a guess.
