[Fink-beginners] Evolution - problem importing Eudora mail

2003-01-30 Thread Birdy Complex
I thought I'd check here to see if this is a Finked Evolution problem,
before mailing the Evolution support list.

Ive got Ximian Evolution working, and have been trying to import a Eudora
for Mac mailbox file.

I import the file (import a single file, tell it to Automatically figure
out what type it is) per Ximian's instructions. I choose the destination
folder and click OK.

The problem is tha the OK button stays down, and the dialog doesn't go
away.

The file is large (10 MB), so I don't know if Evolution's stuck or if its
merely taking a long time to chunk through all this mail.

Anyone know?

Thanks,
Complex

What version of Evolution is it?

Re: [Fink-beginners] Evolution - problem importing Eudora mail

2003-01-30 Thread Birdy Complex
Evolution 1.2.1-1
This is on Mac OS X 10.2.3.
I believe I selfupdate-CVS'ed Fink updated everything else last night.

Ah, I did the following. Still didn't work, but I got a different error.
I changed the mailbox extension to .mbox instead of .mbx. That's probably
unimportant.
I also told Evolution that the file was a .mbox file instead of the
suggested Automatic setting.

Evolution then created a single new email that appears to be made of parts
(or all?) of many messages.

Thanks for the help

I haven't tried this myself, since I'm using Entourage for my non-fink
mail.

I was checking to see if you were running 1.0.7 or 1.2.1, since I found
1 .0.7 to be less stable.

I'm not sure that .mbx and mbox files use the same delimeters to
separate messages. I'll bet they don't, and that's why you got a single
message out of the .mbx file.
