I did a rebuild -m on 10.12.5 and had the same warnings about shared memory.
However, within my limited tests, the program worked. One thing, i can think of
is that i have lowered the security on my Mac. Daren, did you try to execute
htop as sudo?

Also, please note that dmacks has updated the package description lately. So,
do you use the updated package description, where the first command of the
compileScript is 'mkdir m4' ?

According to a hint from Jack Howarth, the version of clang on 10.7 is too old.
I managed to resolve it locally by using a newer version of clang from fink
with these additions:

SetCC: clang-3.6
SetCXX: clang++-3.6

With these additional fields, flac was build without the errors about missing
symbols. However, I did not do any functional tests of the package.

Michael.

… probably the source of the problem. Well spotted by akh.
You probably installed fpc before using the disk images. Either it is still
present in /usr/local/lib or at least a preference file points to it. Depending
on your installation, it might be the 64bit version only and not the 32 bit
version.The 64bit version has /usr/local/bin/ppcx64, the 32bit version has
/usr/local/bin/ppc386. Building lazarus-aqua requires the 32bit version,
because the carbon library is used. You might be lucky and you can build
lazarus-gtk2, since this uses the 64bit compiler. However, keeping both
installations, from fink as well as from disk images, involves major trouble
and errors difficult to fix. I cannot recommend it at all. You have to make a
decision which one to use. Check the freepascal wiki for the removal of
freepascal installed from disk images. Removal of the fink installation is
simple: fink --recursive purge fpc-config

This error is probably caused by an faulty or missing configuration file
/sw/etc/fpc.cfg. As discussed on irc, fink reinstall fpc-config does NOT fix
it, since dpkg might still assume that a correct version is installed. I think
that this behavior is highly questionable, since the only way out is fink
--recursive purge fpc-config and then reinstall the whole chain of packages.
Any chance to change this, i.e. that dpkg does not only check the actual
configuration files for modifications, when doing an update, but also during
fink reinstall … ?

However, it appears that you are building against a third-party fpl, as
 indicated by the -Fu/usr/local/lib/fpc/2.6.4/units/i386-darwin/rtl.

Well spotted. Many thanks for the hint. I did not notice it.

[Fink-users] mopac7

2013-06-16 Thread Schindler Karl-Michael
Dear Finkers,

I had a go with mopac7 including doing the test runs. I had a look at the
output files (*.OUT) in tests and have the impression that the calculations
have not really been done, because there are no orbital coefficients, orbital
energies, total energies, although it prints mopac done. Building with gcc44
or gcc48 did not make a difference. I do not really use mopac7 on a regular
basis, so i am not 100% sure about this. As a reference i include the output of
force.

 According to

 http://pdb.finkproject.org/pdb/package.php/libimobiledevice

it is not yet available for 10.7. The maintainer (cc'ed) may have more
insight as to why it isn't available.

 Karl-Michael,

usbmuxd (a dependency for libimobiledevice) needs an extra flag to
 successfully build (tested on
10.6/i386 and also on a locally copied 10.7 info).

-DUSB_INCLUDE_DIR=%p/include/libusb-1.0 must be added to the cmake command
 in order to find the
libusb1 header. This allows the build to finish. Otherwise it fails during
 the cmake command.

However, even after this is patched, the libusbmuxd.pc file is not formed
correctly, and the Version: field is given a value of UNKNOWN.
This causes libimobiledevice to then fail during ./configure when
trying to find usbmuxd. usbmuxd's self-version check seems broken
 (see Modules/VersionTag.cmake and Modules/describe.sh)

 Hanspeter

I am too busy at work at the moment to look at this right away. I'll have a
look into it in about 2 weeks. Sorry.

 Michael

Thanks Hanspeter and Michael. I'm trying to fink install libimobiledevice on
10.6 and now having problems with usbmuxd (USB_INCLUDE_DIR gets set to
USB_INCLUDE_DIR-NOTFOUND). I just reread Hanspeter's reply and realized that
usbmuxd is not ready for 10.6 too. I tried setting USB_INCLUDE_DIR to
/sw/include/libusb-1.0, but when I attempt fink install usbmuxd, cmake again
 reports USB_INCLUDE_DIR-NOTFOUND. I tried 2 different ways (a) edit
 CMakeCache.txt and (b) ccmake -D USB_INCLUDE_DIR:PATH=/sw/include/libusb-1.0
but it fails in both the cases. After fink install usbmuxd CMakeCache.txt
 loses my
changes. Am I modifying wrong CMakeLists.txt (via ccmake)? If so if you can
 tell
me which one I need to modify (there are a few under usbmuxd's build
 directory).
I will appreciate any pointers to make it work on my system, so if there is a
workaround to take care of libusbmuxd.pc file too - please let me know. I'm
ready to try even if official build is not yet ready. THANKS A LOT.

I started to look at the issues with usbmuxd and libimobiledevice.
One point is that there are substantial patches in their repositories, which
are
not part of the latest source tarballs. I usually include that directly in the
patchscript.
However, they are larger and are better included as a patchfile.
Actually, I was hoping that they release a new version soon, but this does not
seem
to be the case. i have to completely rework usbmuxd and libimobile.
Sorry for the inconvenience. In case you want to try yourself, i found the
interactive ccmake helpful in the struggle with cmake, where you have a list of
the variables, which you can set.
  mkdir build
  cd build
  ccmake ..
then toggle on the expert modus, which shows the complete list of variables.
In case something goes wrong, simply delete the directory build and you can
start
from a clean setup.

I hope to make some progress within this week.

Michael.

 Thanks for your explanation.

When will it be available on 10.7?

There's no definite schedule. I'm not sure if it doesn't build, or just
hasn't been tried yet. The maintainer, Karl-Michael, should know more
 about it.

I still do not have 10.7. So, I can't test it. If you (Yu Wu) can try and
report back positively, I can move it to the 10.7 branch. Sorry for being so
short, but i am very busy at work at the moment.

Re: [Fink-users] Error installing Lazarus package

I have been using a fresh install of Fink to install Lazarus on Mac

lazarus-aqua and lazarus-gtk2. I have fink configured for i386, but
lazarus seems to be compiling for powerpc. Any suggestions how to fix
 this?

Package manager version: 0.31.0 Distribution version:
 selfupdate-rsync Fri Aug 5 16:54:43 2011, 10.6, i386 Trees:
 local/main stable/main Xcode Version: 4.0.2-1

 ...

Your problem is *not* with lazarus. What is failing is
 fpc-cross-powerpc-darwin, as stated above.

lazarus-common, on which lazarus-gtk2 and lazarus-aqua each depend,
carries an explicit dependency on i386 on fpc-cross-powerpc-darwin,
which is the fpc powerpc cross-compiler.

It builds for me with the compilers from Xcode 3.2.6 installed.

On i386 the lazarus package also enables crossbuilding for powerpc macs.
Therefore, it builds fpc-cross-powerpc-darwin and therefore it also needs the
ppowerpc parts of XCode 3.2.6. At the moment there is nothing I can do about
this and you have to install that part of XCode. You seem to have installed
Xcode Version 4.0.2-1, which comes without powerpc support. The fink package
for Lazarus for XCode 4.* will need some reorganisation and I will need at
least 2 weeks for that. At the moment, you could either switch back to XCode
3.2.6 or copy the powerpc parts of it to your XCode 4 installation (I think
there was a macosxhints, how to do this) alternatively, you can also install
lazarus from the disk images. Sorry, but i can't do more until next week.

 Hi

The attachment has my suggestion for a binutils-infodocs package. It is for
the recent version, i.e. 2.21. Is this sufficient or do we need extra
packages for version in question, i.e. 2.19 and 2.21?

 Hi Michael,

The binutils package was created by Jack Howarth. I've CC'd him here. If you
want to install infodocs, it's best to install those of the original
binutils, not those of binutils-avr (whose maintainer is Matthias). However,
the current binutils package already installs its InfoDocs -- why would there
be a need for a binutils-infodocs package? (If anything, I'd make it a
SplitOff of binutils, i.e. whenever binutils is installed, binutils-infodocs
is automatically created and possibly installed too.)

Good points. I totally missed the variant to have the docs installed through
Jack Howarth's binutils package. The idea behind a separate binutils-infodocs
package was the possibility to install it independently from all native and
cross binutils. However, the variant with jack's native binutils is good enough.

Re: [Fink-users] avr-{binutils, gcc} problems because of InfoDocs line

2011-07-23 Thread Schindler Karl-Michael
Hi

How about ONE separate info file for all binutils? That is probably the
simplest and cleanest solution. I already did something like that for the
binutils docs.

I tried and with some tweaks, i could build lazarus, but it crashed on startup.
I suspect that some darwin specific parts are not 64-bit clean, since the linux
64-bit version of gkt2 works.

just for the records, the following command is as far as i came:

make all LCL_PLATFORM=gtk2 OPT=-gw -dHasX -Fl/sw/lib/pango-ft219/lib/
-k-framework -kCoreServices CPU_TARGET=x86_64

another possibiliy would be qt, but i never tried that one on the mac.
