Actually Reddit just put an audio captcha system in place
today. Curious why it took them so long to do this.

I came across the following on ReddIt's FAQ for the /r/blind
community:

Q: How Can I Avoid The CAPTCHA?

A: As it says on our submission screen, you can email
cont...@reddit.com,
or send a modmail to the reddit administrators, and they can
help you get around the CAPTCHA. If you have access to tools
like

WebVisum
or
CaptchaMonster
they can also solve the Reddit CAPTCHA. Accounts with a gold
subscription, or high enough Karma, are also exempt from the
CAPTCHA.

Wish I knew someone who was using CaptchaMonster. You need
an invite code to register.

Jorge, this is good information, needless to say. Two qualifications:

First, I'm finding increasingly that instead of pressing alt and f at the same
time, I need to press alt, then f, followed by I, e. But your method used to
work for me and might still on some documents.

Second, I choose not to make the permanent change because it could result in
contaminated files being opened on my system.

have ms office on this one to repeat the steps, but here is how.
Sorry I can't give the keystrokes.
1. First launch any Office program such as Microsoft Word and then press
Alt+F for File
2. Now go to Options
3. open Options window. Now find on "Trust Center" tab given at the end in
left-side pane and then enter on "Trust Center Settings" button.
It'll open a new window to customize Trust Center settings.
4. Click on "Protected View" tab and in right-side pane, you'll find following
options ◦Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet ◦Enable
Protected View for files that are located in potentially unsafe locations
◦Enable Protected View for Outlook attachments 5. All options are enabled by
default. Disable the desired option or disable all given options to turn off
Protected View completely and click on OK button to save the changes.

Good morning!

I am running Microsoft Office 2013, Jaws 17 & Windows 8.1. When I download
documents, it is in protective view. I have gotten the message that it is in
protected view because it has been downloaded from the internet. Since it
is in this view, I have problems reading it with Jaws. How do I change
this so I can read these documents? Thanks so much for any information!

Tanny, I get those docs from my school. After I open the doc I turn on the
JAWS cursor and go to Enable Editing and place the JAWS cursor on the E in
Enable. Next, I use the PC to JAWS command and editing is enabled and I
save the doc.

Control and up arrow moves you up the column - to the top most of the time.
Just repeat the move if you don't get to the top the first time you use the
key combination.

I don't think this has anything to do with the jaws-users server at all; I
think it's something I need to change. I have gotten a 403 do not have
permission to open the site message when I go to the jaws-users site, but I
have also gotten a fix connections problem error on other sites and my
connection is just fine. So since I'm getting these errors could something
in my domain or IP address be messed up and are there easy steps to fix this
using jaws 16 and windows 7?

Hi,

I have a thinkpad Yoga. When I purchased it the Yoga came with windows 8.1
and the insert key didn't work, that is to say the insert key is also the
end key.

I can't recall but I found a way to reset the setting so insert was the
default.

Some time ago I updated to Windows 10 and all worked well. However a few
days ago, the anniversary update was installed all worked well I think until
the Yoga did an update including bios. Now my insert key is no longer the
default.

Sure I can switch keyboard settings to laptop but would prefer to use the
desktop keyboard settings.

Any advice would be most helpful.

Many thanks

Regards

Thomas
