Re: [JAWS-Users] Unable to authorize Jaws 2018 on a newly acquired laptop
Do you have an authorization Cisk? If so you can authorize jaws with it. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Michael Sent: Wednesday, January 17, 2018 12:29 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Unable to authorize Jaws 2018 on a newly acquired laptop Yesterday I got my hands on a Toshiba laptop pc running Windows 8.1, but I have now updated the pc to the latest Windows 10 fall creator's update. However, after I installed Jaws 2018 from a DVd, I am now being asked to enter an authorization number which I cannot find in my saved e-mail from last June. I called VFO over an hour ago and left my phone number for a call back. I know that VFO tech support is likely busy, but are they so busy that I can't get a call back in less than an hour? Really? There are certain programs I cannot install because Jaws keeps telling me that I have the professional version which I do not. How on earth do I get an authorization code? I'm sorry, but this situation is very frustrating. I had to end a call with the Microsoft Disability Answer Desk because I am unable to get the 2018 version of Jaws authorized. Incidentally, I got the pc from my sister because she seldom used. It. After installing JAWS on a Windows 7 computer, you may experience problems authorizing using a dongle, for example Windows installed the drivers, but JAWS fails to see the dongle. Here's how to solve this problem: 1. When Action Centre notifies you to solve PC issues, click on the icon in the notification area. 2. Click solve a problem in the Action Centre window. 3. Click view message on the next screen. 4. You will be told that Sentinel Super USB Pro/Ultra Pro stopped working correctly. Follow the instructions that appears, including installing the driver update. 5. Reboot the computer when prompted. JAWS should now correctly see the dongle and thus it will be activated. I really hope this would be on the technical support pages of Freedom Scientific. This is why I am bringing this to your attention. From Chris. Personally, with programs like that produced by sighted people, if everything works correctly and the way I want it in a current version, I don't update just in case something doesn't read or work anymore the way it did in the previous version. However, if I am told of significant bug fixes or something that will help me use it, then I will update. with adaptive technology however, I update every chance I can for obvious reasons some of which are because it is produced with blind people in mind, and usually with significant improvements which will make using it in conjunction with other programs or just on its own will be a much better experience. examples are jaws and the victor reader stream firmware. use insert v and then do the end button and it will show the symntheizer shift tab hit enter and shift tab once more and hit enter again - Original Message - From: Job Hunter [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Saturday, November 24, 2007 10:01 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Turning off Jaws speech Hi Everyone: Is there a Jaws keyboard command that will temporarily silence Jaws speech, without having to unload the program? For example, if I am going to record something directly from the sound card and I don't want to accidentally have any Jaws speech on the recording, then I would want to silence the speech just before I hit the key to start the recording. I am using Jaws 6.2. I have looked through the help files and did some Google searches, with no success. I know that if it is possible, then someone on this list will have the answer.
