Re: [JAWS-Users] Java & Jaws
There's always a problem it seems. I'm curious? How many sites or applications do JAWS users encounter that require JAVA? I know there a lot of on-line gaming sites that need it to run their plug-ins. For your own needs is it really worth the risks? I mean if Google has taken steps to stop certain programs from appearing on their search engine, there must be a serious problem. Believe other well known sites have also followed suit. I would just avoid installing them completely, unless I had full flexibility to enable them on a site by site basis. That's what using FireFox will give you. That's why I have Adobe Flash installed only on FireFox. Some important sites I use haven't switched their web players to the new HTML 5 format, thus I have to use Adobe Flash to access their content. Re: [JAWS-Users] Java & Jaws
Hi Adrian, Well, my 1st install was from, Ninite, but after enabling the Access Bridge I got an error message, & also after rebooting. Come to find out, the Ninite installer installed both 32 & 64 bit versions. So, I uninstalled them both, made sure all Oracle / Java folders were gone from everywhere I could think of, cleaned my system with CCleaner, & finally reinstalled with an installer I got from Oracle's website. I enabled the Access Bridge, no error messages, rebooted, & no error messages, so I think we gotter whipped. Thanks much. Take care. Mike Sent from my iBarstool. Go Dodgers! Re: [JAWS-Users] Java & Jaws
You're absolutely correct. Both JAVA and Adobe Flash are on everyone's hit list for having way too many security vulnerabilities. It's best you avoid installing them. You get more flexibility installing Adobe Flash on FireFox for you can enable it's use on a site by site basis. They may have the same option for JAVA. At 05:40 PM 4/14/2017, you wrote: Hi Mike.
