Re: Mounting few Iso's on the same point
thnaks, that what I was looking for. I tried it, and it does not produce anything. I do not know much perl. I used the debugger and saw that in the lines foreach my $name (grep(!/^(\.|\.\.)$/, readdir(DIRHANDLE))) and while (($key,$value) = each %symlinks) the script never continue inside the block. i.e. the script cannot see the files/dirs in the source dir any adea ? Im running it as root, and the mount is done as root as well. I also tried union /boot /root /tmp and again, nothing happened. Alon. Here's the solution I use on IGLU's server. On IGLU, we wanted to mount all of RedHat ISOs into their standard directory structure, as it appears on RedHat's FTP site, to save disk space. It all worked out pretty well. 1. Mount the ISOs into different directories. 2. Use my union utility to consolidate the different directories into one single directory. It creates directories and symbolic links as necessary, so that the target directory almost doesn't take up any disk space. Usage: union source-dir1 source-dir2 source-dir2 ... target-dir (Tip: If you want to offer those files via FTP, like we do, make the source directory paths relative -- because your FTP site doesn't begin at /) You can get it from http://toast.unwind.co.il/hacks/union Share and enjoy! = To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] = To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]

However, Sun's solution is better from an engineering standpoint because it is not a bidi solution, it's an internationalization solution - works the same way with all languages, and it works for all OO components, and it is part of OO, whereas IBM's patch is not. That means that you aren't stuck with an old OO version as you are with IBM's patch. Regards, - yba Alexander Maryanovsky. DNS configuration problem
Hi, I'm trying to solve a problem we have with our DNS services. We have a primary DNS server here in the company, and Internet Zahav are secondaries for us. When I query either our server or one of the Internet Zahav servers about the MX record for our domain, they answer fine. When I query other name servers, it doesn't work -- either a timeout or SERVFAIL. You can try this yourself. The domain name is mangodsp.com. You can query 192.116.213.66 (our name server) or the Internet Zahav name servers and it works fine. If you query e.g. dns.netvision.net.il it doesn't work. Any idea at all? Why isn't the information propagated in any way? If the zone file is necessary, I can post it. However it seems that it's OK, given that our name server and Internet Zahav's secondaries answer the queires fine. Season for Alehoom on bad employers? (was: Re: JOB WANTED)
On Tue, 8 Oct 2002, Ira Abramov wrote: Are we starting an Alehoom? Before starting, or before continuing, bad-mouthing bad employers, may I suggest that the disgruntled employees/former employees think two steps ahead, and consider their own reputation. Unless there was a violation of the Israeli employment laws (and I don't consider work on Saturday with proper compenstaion but without permit from Ministry of Labor as a violation which justifies badmouthing), I would advise the former employee to shut up, and tell his story only in private and only when explicitly asked about the circumstances. This is because walking around with a bit of stench behind one does no good to anyone. Only people, who need to know (such as friends considering employment there and the next employer), should be told about the stinking details. Now, I'll happily contradict what I wrote above! Several years ago, I was married and I was employed. I was not happy with the job I had the time, hence I looked for another job. There was a company called Neve-Zuf (in the settlement of the same name), which looked for people with exactly the professional background, which I had. I sent them my resume (by FAX, which both the company and me had, even at that barbarian era). Mr. Droi from Neve-Zuf liked my resume, and asked to phone-screen me. Since I am deaf, he suggested that my wife mediate between us. But I refused this because my wife at the time was hard-of-hearing and was not familiar with the professional terminology, and might misunderstand some critical phrases to my detriment. I was willing to go to the company for an extra interview in lieu of the phone screening. But he refused this. I sent him a FAX message complaining about the discriminatory behavior which he exhibited. He denied whatever happened. I was never interviewed there, and it is not known to this day whether I would have been qualified for a job in Neve-Zuf or not. So this was a classical discrimination situation. At the time there were no anti-discrimination laws, so my only recurse was to give the story the widest possible publicity. I wonder if the company still exists. I certainly do exist. :-) --- Omer WARNING TO SPAMMERS: at http://www.zak.co.il/spamwarning.html = To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Ira, Gilad, Muli, and myself are among linux-il subscribers that have recently left one and the same (rather rich and quite able to pay reasonable salaries) company after brief (a few months for GBY, Mulix, and me) employment. Please don't ask me, on or off the list, about the reasons why. The above is an easily verifiable and even difficult to conceal fact. All the rest is between each of us separately and the (still current for me and Muli - we asked for and got our notices) employer, and I, for one, would like to keep my loyalty - and silence - to the end. No comment, once and for all. The other members of the gang will decide for themselves. Suffice it to say that as far as I know the reasons for all of us were quite similar bordering on identical. We have discussed this among ourselves, but each came to his own personal decision. We are all adults, and not very susceptible to outside influences ones at that. This is as much information as I am willing to release to the public. If a potential employer starts insisting during a job interview, I will consider saying more, as long as it does not contradict my contractual obligations. Again, Sorry if I bothered anyone with this message. Just a quick followup. This is even more offtopic than the original message but I have no other way to contact the people, sorry. After posting this to the list I got several bids on this auction. They looked very strange because they came 2-3 minutes after each other and the price went up to the sky. For anyone who's considering using bay.walla.co.il I just wanted to warn you that as far as I see the service is just another public service and anyone can simply register multiple accounts and bid anything that he wants, even if he does not intend to pay.
