This is merely a question. I talk to nobody before asking. Is it settled that on the first Friday of Jan at 12:00 (Fri Jan 7 12:00:00 IST 2000) Ury Segal will speak about the Linux kernel at the IDC? = To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I think in a week we'll close the poll and decide finally, but Friday Jan 7 is a definite meeting. (if you didn't vote yet: http://ren.scso.com/linuxpoll.html ) I sugest that the first meeting will just be a friendly get-together, where we can brain storm sugestions for future activities and lectures, know eachother by face and not just by name, and to break the ice, we'll start with a session I call "How I survived January 1st 2000". more accurately, for us sysadmins... "How I survived 946677600". Me and my dean are on Peli Peled's tail, but he is hard to get during the COMDEX. if you have contacts to him (Cellphone? Eli Marmor?) Re: A lecture about the Linux kernel + remider about Comdex
I have a lecture hall for Friday at 1pm here at the IDC. if I can't get Maddog, I still think we should have a lecture. Me and my dean are on Peli Peled's tail, but he is hard to get during the COMDEX. if you have contacts to him (Cellphone? Eli Marmor?) It'll help. I don't have any special contact with the Tiger. I guess that I can get his number easily, but I'm afraid he is a little busy this week with VIPs from abroad and so on. Anyway, I want to remind the list of the Linux conference tomorrow. I think that it is already full, but you can try anyway. Since Comdex is already in its middle, the registration is closed, but according to the form: "Im Lo Nirshamta Adayin, Tuchal Laasot Zot BaTaarucha Azma". My guess is that there will not be anybody to be blocked from entering the hall. But don't blame me if I'm wrong! Even if you are not going to be in this event, you can come at its end, to meet maddog and other friends (like me). The IDC is the Interdisciplinary Center Herzlyia - "Hamerkaz Habentchumi Herzlia", where he studies, I think. If I'm not wrong. I estimate the number by 50, partially because once we had a date+time+place I intend to suggest that openu students, particularly those who might required to submit assignments done on Linux/Unix as part of their operating system course and other courses, will attend as well. Another point is that a hall with a slide projector is preferable then one which does not have one, though papers or other substitutes can be given to people who will attend as a replacement for the slides. thank you for your effort and support = To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
