Try the "two simple examples" from http://wiki.lyx.org/BibTeX/Biblatex 
to check whether biber or bibtex8 work for you.
LyX 2.2 will ease the use of biblatex, you might want to give it a try.

  Almost, but not quite. The correct syntax is:
\renewcommand\abstractname{Summary}

  Reading the KOMA-script document I see why the above does not work, but I
don't see how to change the name of the abstract _environment_ (not a
command) to summary. If that's in the LyX Wiki I missed seeing it.

chapter05.lyx and included it as you describe. However, how can I now 
change in this file the chapter 4 into 5?

I managed to get the chapter number of the subfile alright, apparently 
the program does it (after saving?).

It is embarassing, in my tests it never occurred to me that tables are 
generally in table flaots %-|


I think the problem is that traditionally collapsable insets have a 
width that is limited to the width of the bufferview. I have to see 
whether this can be lifted without too much pain.
