I did so (perhaps more rashly than bravely). Upgrade was smooth. Absolutely no
problems for me with LyX 2.2, MacTeX 2015, and Skim.

We have not heard of anyone who has tried it. There were many problems
in LyX when Capitan made its debut, but hopefully that is not the common
upgrade experience.

If you do bravely try it out, please let us know.

Has anyone tried out LyX 2.2 on the public beta of OS X Sierra?

Note that you can also do: Alt-P + Space, then start typing the name of
what you want.

BIBINPUTS is an environment variable and can be set this way

I assume. I am not on Windows so cannot test. But I set it (in Linux)
via a file that is read at login.

Those files are generated in a temporary directory. If you want it
output to the document directory, then use File> Export.

The system depends on the bind file you use. As far as I know the
emacs-like shortcuts do have a (weird) system, not easy to learn. I use
cua (common user access). You can print out a pdf with all shortcuts:
http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/KeyboardShortcuts
Bo Peng has modified standard shortcuts (same link) and added "Theorem"
etc. shortcuts.

You can find the shortcuts in Tools > Preferences > Editing > Shortcuts.
There are some presets available (.bind-file). I doubt, that there is a
shortcut for "Theorem", because this is part of a an additional module.

The ctrl-P followed by * and a number results in the unnumbered

It would be better if LyX skipped the /", and inserted this
part automatically based on the actual user set-up. The way it is now, the file
location is hard coded.

The best way is to put your BibTeX file in a place where LaTeX will find it,
and then define the BIBINPUTS environment variable to point there.

This can be different on the two machines. Then LyX will jut record the file as
"yourfile.bib" or whatever.
