I mostly get mine from Nailite, Buynail,? Premier, about 2-3$ for a hundred.
Usually just get the med grit.? The only trouble I have ever had was with the

NailTech:: Re: Rubber stamps on nails

2009-10-02 Thread swtips

 Oh Michelle,
that is a blast from the past.? We used stamps YEARS ago. There may even be
something in the archives here to tell you even more than I remember.? There
was a set that Crayola Crayons had on the end of what looked like markers that
were great. Used the paw print for Penn State nails forever.
You have to make sure that the polish is very dry. And you need to be steady
and firm when pressing it on. Dry for a few min.(I usually use a fan) and
topcoat.
If you were using it on colored gel I would clean the sticky and buff slightly
with a buffer , stamp and dry. Seal with your sealer coat and cure.
As I remember? I used it a lot with air brush frenchs and designs.
Good luck and have fun

NailTech:: Re: Rubber stamps on nails

2009-10-02 Thread Rhonda Kibuk
When I've used them, I used acrylic paint. Make sure that your polish is
very dry. Add a couple of drops or paint to a polish remover pad to make a
stamp pad, pounce the stamp onto the pad then apply to the nail. Start
with one side and rock to the other size, depending on size to ensure that
you stamp the entire image on the nail's curved surface. Be sure to clean
stamp well. Dried acrylic paint and rubber stamps don't like each other.

Beautytech.com has great info as do Nails and Nailpro sites.
Be very careful about explaining about MMA and nss places. NSS could also be

Just some food for thought.

Ok gals. I need to know where is the best place to get info on MMA . I am
moving salons and need to give the new owner info so, she can explain to her
clients why they need to soak off the NSS products. Educating her she is
excited!!
She is already promoting me and I would also like some ideas on pricing for
promotional purposes. She is wanting me to go as cheap as possible to get them
in my chair. Now come on who can afford that?
If I think of anything else I will ask.
Thanks ladies!!

NailTech:: Re: Need info

2009-10-02 Thread Angela R Wingerter
Michelle,

I would be careful going to cheap with pricing. Its not the easiest thing to
raise your prices. I would give major discounts or promotions but leave your
price what you need it to be in 6 months or a year.

You could run a special for a free full set (including the soak-off) with
payment at that time for their first refill. Refill has to take place in two
weeks, no later. If they don't come back for the fill then you have at least
half of your money. If they come in for a fill they are more likely to become a
regular and see your work is worth the price.

NailTech:: Re: tips and wraps

2009-10-02 Thread ceilidh_ns
What I do for them is a resin dip in sparkly acrylic powder with either clear
or french tips. You could do wrap , too, for that but you probably have the
goodies for resin dips already. I call them Party Nails and do them pretty
quickly.

Look at the amount of product on the stamp. Should be kinda dry. I use the

NailTech:: Re: tips and wraps

2009-10-02 Thread ceilidh_ns
I use whatever powder I have. Right now I have some glitters from Nailworkz -
Lina is the name I think. I should clarify because I was walking and texting a
few minutes ago:) I used to dip them like Star and Backscratchers teach but
then an educator with Linen Batiste, which no longer exists, showed me a way
that was faster.

She dipped a brush from brush-on resin into the powder just like it was a
regular acrylic brush and put her ball of product down and moved it around a
bit like gel. It hardens up quickly so you have to move fast.

I use Star brush on self activating resin and the Star So Fine spray on gel
cure activator. It makes a pretty sturdy nail and its what I have on right
now. I do a set in under 30 minutes and they soak off uber fast. You could
maintain them, the client just has to oil up twice daily.

I charge 30 dollars for a set and include the soak off. Most of the youngins
who get them will usually (and unfortunately) pick them off so I don't see too
many removals.

I started doing them about 6 or 7 years ago when I was inundated with
princesses who wanted nails for prom and would then being their mothers with
them two days later to try to get their money back because they really didn't
want nice gels. It got so that I dreaded June, lol

I can video it over the weekend if you want to see it.
