That's the point: I don't know how to grab the stream's website, rather than the site I pasted; the site I pasted of http://tunein.com/radio/KMBH-FM-881-s32965/ is the one that doesn't play when pasted into Tapin. I think what you need to do (and there's no easy way for me to explain it) but you have to go to that station's website; then bring up the stream (then once that is up and running, you past _that_ address into Tapin! II don't know that this helps you much, but it's as best I know to tell you! Oops? That's my fault Tom. I didn't even think that this was only an audio related list. Selectively hearing the PC part of PC Audio, I was thinking that the list had to do with most any PC related subject. An honest oversight on my part. Again, sory for that. Re: Flatbed scanner
Hello All: It would be great if there could be a handheld scanner; that way, I can move it down the page and get the scan necessary and may be scan a book a bit faster too. Presently, I'm trying to put a Canon all-in-one to the test; the ImageClass series will let me scan up to 50 pages at once! It will scan both sides of a page, but i do have to remove the cover of the book first. That's the bad part but ok I guess! It's ireless, I don't have to be tethered to the machine. I'll use Abbyy FineReader Pro. Sincerely, Olusegun Denver, colorado --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com

Dave, Try the cannon range. under 100 dolars, will scan an a4 in ten seconds. The lower in price the longer the scan time. Optic book 3600 is also worth a look, 200 dolars for that baby, but it is quick. It is an in the cloud scanning program that costs 300 bucks, and you still need a scanner with it. Given the uncertain state of serotek and the fact that this is all done in the cloud, I would not personally touch that program with a 10-ft pole at this time. The opticbook 3800 is a good bookedge scanner. If you mostly want to scan books, that's a good one. But you will still need an accessible piece of software to go with it. Abbyy Fine Reader pro for Windows is said to be accessible, although I have no personal experience with it. The software that comes with the opticbook scanners is worthless from an accessibility point of view. You can try a free demo of the above-mentioned docuscan plus to see if it meets your needs, as you can try a demo of abbyy FR pro, which costs less and gives you way more control, and more languages, than docuscan. There is also k1000 and Openbook, but those programs cost considerably more; they offer many more features and are designed for the blind. So if that's your cup of tea, then go for it. K1000 just released version 14 with the latest versions of the engines from abbyy and scansoft. Mary -- Joe Paton j...@vi-ability.demon.co.uk
blue tooth and jaws14?
Listers,I am running windows7 premium 64bit along with a blue tooth system called Trek Max, speakers. My problem is, when I run the blue tooth system jaws will know longer speak. While the blue tooth is playing I have to unload jaws and reload it, now remember while I'm doing this jaws isn't speaking. If jaws reloads, I can do what ever I need to do while the blue tooth is working. If the reloading of jaws didn't work, I will have to stop everything, and start over again. Can some one please tell me why is jaws stopping from speaking in the firstplace? When the reloading of jaws does work when trek Max is playing, I may do what ever with it that includes installing something if I need. I did go in the jaws menu and put jaws on the system sound card alone. This is my first time using blue tooth, I hope I explained my problem well. Thanks to all. Carliss

RE: Flatbed scanner
I will be obtaining an OpticBook 4800 for flatbed scanning, as it is scans very quickly. I would not recommend the A300, unless you plan to use it in a learning resource centre or similar information centre. Also, it should be noted that you will need to proofread what you are scanning, as even the best scanners sometimes make nonsense of a book. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc. Same here and I am quite good on the mac. I have Radium, but there is no way to browse for stations without an initial search. Tapin Radio for example allows you to browse by genre, country or network. Thanks for any recommendations. Re: Flatbed scanner
I don’t recommend the a300 either. At about $1,200 it is more money and much more scanner than what a blind end user needs. The a320 or 3800 are real possibilities.
