McDonald's has been trying for three decades to bag a spot in the central
square in Krakow. Hasn't succeeded yet.

Ah, ha! I don't allow a computer with a keyboard in the kitchen. I use
a tablet -- which is reasonably liquid proof -- to access Google

McDonald's coffee is certainly better than their food.It is
drinkable.
When traveling abroad, I always look for McDonald's. First, they always
have the best location in the city; second, one can get a large cup of
decent hot coffee at a reasonable price; third, they have clean, free
restrooms, which can be hard to find in Paris and other major European
cities.

Banana, fat-free Greek yogurt, fat-free milk, bit of honey. Stick blender, pint
jug. Peel the banana first, and discard the peel. Or not, it’s up to you.

There now, I’ve spoiled your lockdown.

I've learned how to freeze bananas, so my smoothies are half a banana, a couple
of frozen strawberries & a couple of frozen pineapple chunks & fill the blender
with water up to the to the top of the fruit + an equal volume of ice.

Vitamix blender.

Occasionally I substitute one of those instant breakfast nutrition shakes for
the water, but once those are all gone, I'm not buying any more of them.

The "French Vanilla" flavoring is horribly overdone & they taste awful and the
only way I've been able to get them down is mixing them in smoothies (and they
make the smoothie taste awful, but not quite unbearable).

I can safely state that shooting portraits is a breeze compared to
consistently making good pour overs. :-)

My favorite coffee is McDonald's drive-thru coffee.

You don't have to add anything to it to make it drinkable, but it is a good idea
to let it cool some before taking the lid off ...

... which I frequently have to do because they put the opening in the lid right
over the seam on the side of the paper cup & if you try to drink it that way it
dribbles.

If you turn the lid around to the other side, your fingers fall naturally on the
seam and you know where the opening is without having to take your eyes off the
road when you want to drink it.

I love espresso, Dan. But while I can relatively easily conceal large
camera and lighting purchases, there's no way I can hide an espresso
machine on the kitchen counter. Certain death awaits from She Who Must
be Obeyed.

So I will just have to make do with the espressos I can savour at a
restaurant -- whenever *that* becomes possible again. Or my stove-top
moka pot, which is next on my list for playing with again.

Damn you, Bob! ;-)

My preferred gear chose me early on -- a Hario V60 ceramic dripper --
and I decided to forge ahead with that. When I get it right it's the
best coffee I've ever had, but if I'm inattentive even for a moment
while brewing, it's ... uh, suboptimal. There are some very good
coffee roasters in the area and I'm working my way through their
single origin beans one by one.

I shall give your smoothie recipe a try. I picked up a Blendtec
blender at a decent Black Friday price and it likes challenges, like
banana peels. Also whole carrots, celery stalks, large chunks of ice,
anything really. I think it would happily blend a piano if I could get
it into the jar.
