Unfortunately that log does it capture the beginning of the session. All

Set Shairtunes log level to debug (in the login settings, not in the
plugin settings) and see what we get

one Touch, a Boom and an SB3. All wired connection and all 3 exhibit

I'm not very experienced with the extensive logging sets LMS has - is
there somewhere else I should be looking apart from the shairtunes2w log

Installed LMS on Debian. It took me some hours. LMS is running much more
effective on Linux in comparison with Windows. Some how I've got the
idea that it even sounds better:confused:

I switched over to the dev versions of Philippe's excellent Airplay
bridge and Shairtunes plugins and once I realised I needed to install
the x86 (not x64) version of MS Visual Studio, all was well until about
a week ago.
Now, all squeezeboxes still broadcast their presence to our iPhones and
material can seemingly be played to them, showing up on the squeezebox
display with the now playing bar moving along nicely, but no sound
emerges. I'm pretty sure I haven't changed anything, other than updating
to latest version of LMS 8.3.1

It’s should absolutely. I think the OP sees something different with
Spotify because he might use Spotty and it’s connect option that
probably changes the name of players when sync’d.

duplicate tracks in my library that happened to be tracks that had been
played on the group player when the group player was still the selected
player in LMS. There is no obvious reason why it happened. It would be
interesting if you found the same but so far it seems to be only me.
Uninstalling the plugin fixed the issue.

device in LMS. Only solo players will be visible, unless you use my
Group plugin that creates "virtual" devices.

one thing i cant figure out:
via spotify from iphone i find the grouped players - an can successfully
stream to the group
via tidal from iphone - i only can find the ungrouped players (in my
case 5 players - can send to 1 of them by time successfully)

any reason? anything i do wrong?

I noticed a Shairtunes update this week - and it hasn't worked for me
since (my wife uses is all the time).

The players are no longer listed (on the iPhone in this case).

Anybody else experiencing this?

It should really work on Windows, I just tried it again on Win10 and a
brand new setup. Now, using LMS on Linux is super easy. Just have to
download the "debian" installation and run a single command. Then it
depends where your library is

this, I thought to myself why am I not using the same LMS setup as "the
master" is using. How difficult is it to install LMS on Ondroid-C4? Is

Thanks Philippe for developing and maintaining all the plugins!

While trying to install Shairtunes2W today, I got an error message in
the log and it didn't install. It seems that the development repo links
to the wrong download path of ShairTunes2W:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/lms-plugins-philippe44/dev/ShairTunes2W-1.0.15.zip
which gives a 404 error. 
I think the right path might be:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/lms-plugins-philippe44/ShairTunes2W-1.0.15.zip

I'm using normal quality from Tidal on iPhone. That must be AAC.

Can you set log of Shairtunes to info and attach it here (log is set in
LMS settings, tab advanced, choice logging). What format have you chosen
to send audio to the player?

Do you know how to log in your NAS and start a command line to launch
manually the helper? It would be helpful to see what’s happening there.
The helper is in the sub-directory of LMS
cache/installedplugins/plugins/Shairtunes2W/Bin

I’m running my LMS on a TrueNAS Box. (FreeBSD)
I have no problem airplaying to my Touch, but when doing it to my
Reciever & Radio I get no Sound. Can anyone come with some pointers on
where to look?

Hello,

There is no rush LOL, just want to make sure this issue is documented, 
AIRPLAY from the hardware is working good! So from squeezeamp or
picoreplayer

The screenshot from the iphone is showing that airplay from physical
hardware is showing, but nothing from LMS is showing.

I took a chance and updated the OS to Ventura, macos 13.1.  
Shairtunes2w is still working for me, with LMS 8.3.1, in native M1
architecture.  

What I don't dare doing however, is even trying to open the preferences
in the Shairtunes plugin.  Somehow i got the preferences set right in
all my flailing about. But previously in my flailing, I got into a deep
dark hole accessing the preferences, and I'm leaving well enough alone
for now.

After opening up the suggested port, and ensuring that Norton wasn't
blocking the helper (which it wasn't) and a couple of restarts all is
good here. It may have been the port that was stopping it, or perhaps an
update to the pluging? I have no idea. However it is working again and
for that thank you.

This is a brilliant plugin that brings so much utility to the LMS
universe. I initially missed it, but now I've discovered it, it makes so
many little things easy, so thank you very much for all your hard work.

I think that sometimes happens right after installation. Don't ask me 
why... But I fear you'll be back on native code next time you start LMS.


That said you can probably force LMS to run in x86_64 mode by prepending 
the startup line with "arch -x86_64".

I'm grateful for what you have done.  It looks like a heroic effort to
me.

Shairtunes *is already* working with M1, but only with LMS 8.2.x and
perl5.18.   

It's possible that the needed mods are on the LMS side, to make LMS
8.3.x work with M1 and whatever versions of perl ship with the current
macos (apparently 5.18 and 5.30).

Running LMS as Docker on my Synology NAS 1512 (X86-64), latest updates
of ShairTunes2w killed my Airplay Squeezebox ability.
The plugin seems working but Squeezeboxes don't appear on my iPhone
Airplay.
In attach the parameters I'm used to and the server log.
Any idea?

I tried today's new version 1.0.15.   I got the same result, same error
messages in the log file.  I did set the helper file to arm64 in the
preferences (for macos M1).

Moreover, I have somehow once again got into the situation where the
preferences are no longer accessible through the web interface; trying
to access them gives the html error message:  

404 Not Found:
plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/ShairTunes2W/settings/basic.html


Moreover,  I cannot correct this by uninstalling the plugin through the
plugins manager AND manually removing 

/Users/fgoodman/Library/Application\
Support/Squeezebox/plugin/shairtunes.prefs .

If I re-install shairtunes through the plugins manager, I just get back
to the "404 not found" message.

The last time I was here, the only escape I found was  to do a clean
install of LMS from scratch.   Evidently, when things go south, you are
leaving behind some piece of information somewhere which prevents trying
again with a clean slate.

Another thing as you're on Windows => make sure the shairport_helper.exe
is authorized in your firewall

This was working, now it is not working, is this a known problem? 

I do not think it is on my iphone side, as if I turn on the shairtunes
from a picoreplayer, it appears as a airplay on iphone

But maybe something I am doing?

I got myself into a slightly deeper impasse with this.  Out of
curiosity, I set the processor type to x86.  Now I can't even access the
preferences to set it back to M1.  Removing the plugin and re-installing
it (from the plugins manager page) does not help.  There must be a
configuration file left behind when the plugin is removed by the plugins
manager, and of course I don't know where to find it.

I switched to -shairport_helper-linux-arm-, and the problem disappeared.

The selection was automatic before because there was only one binary
option

I found a workaround 'here'

Make slimserver use a version of perl that is supported by shairtunes by
changing the shebang (first line) in :

/Library/PreferencePanes/Squeezebox.prefPane/Contents/server/slimserver.pl

ex: perl 5.18 (check for available perl versions on your system)

I noticed that the piCorePlayer has a setting called Shairport-sync
under the tweaks tab. I guess that ShairTunes2W exposes all Squeezebox
players instead of just a single player?
Anyway, I did experiment a bit with the ShairTunes2W plugin but
experienced a few annoying quirks: after a while of use and inactivity I
need to reboot my piCorePlayer because there is no more sound or
sometimes there is no more artwork on the player. After a player reboot
this all works again. Anyone experience the same issues?

As far as Shairtunes2W is concerned, it is a single long stream, there
is no notion of gap, it all comes from the source

Hello All,

I have a question, I play Apple Music from the iPhone to the LMS server
on Windows, via the Squeezebox receiver.
Works very nice, but when I play a nice mix there is a gap between the
tracks.
I played a little with Wav and Flac but nothing works.
I there a solution ?

Hej there,

are there any known issues with the plugin's version on RaspberryPiOS
64bit when using avahi-publish-service indstead of the built-in mdns
helper?

When I have the avahi-daemon package installed the binary helpers do not
show up in my iPhone. When I purge the packages "avahi-daemon" and
"avahi-utils" everything works well.

Only difference then: shairtunes announces via the built-in mdns
helper...

Hi, I came across the ShairTunes2 plug and tried to install it on my LMS
8.11 (pink dot) running on my DS214play under 6.2.4.  

The LMS crashed on the restart after the plugin install and no will not
launch, it crashes every time.

Is there any way to remove it (I obviously can't do it in the LMS as it
won't start!)

Any help appreciated.

This started happening at the end of last year. I haven't changed any of
the hardware here so I'm guessing a firmware update on the Xfinity
router or by-product of an iOS update or possibly LMS update. Those are
the only changes I can think of. Thankfully it's only an AirPlay issue
and the legacy devices have no issue keeping a WIFI connection (Radio
assisted with a Vonets extender).

I’ve been having issues with some squeezelite players using 2.4ghz Wi-Fi
band. The connections have not been stable and so would sometimes appear
and be able to connect with airplay briefly or not appear at all. This
has been caused by my router ASUS zenwifi XT8. I’ve had to roll back to
older firmware 42095 for the connections issues to go away. This is only
when connecting to the second node which is connected via wireless
backhaul. 

I have also seen reports of older touch devices having connection issues
potentially due to Wi-Fi6 routers / mesh networks when I was
investigating my issue. Not sure if it help but could be an avenue to
explore?

Clicking on the ShairTunes "Settings" link gives me "404 Not Found:
plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/ShairTunes2W/settings/basic.html"
I'm running Linux (Fedora 23, on a Vortexbox).
Settings for all my other plugins are working fine, and the directory
structure for ShairTunes looks the same as my other plugins. Any
thoughts?

I’m not sure which player it is but it definitively disappear from LMS
regularly and then coming back. This is often invisible in LMS, but not
in AirPlay. So it still feel like a network-related issue (not a “bad”
network, let’s say a communication issue)

What would cause the following error messages?  These get logged at the

Dac32 and iPhones are on the same wireless segment but Shairtunes I
assume is on the Ethernet segment. It sounds again like a router doing
IGMP snooping, can you check if you such option? Otherwise, can you send
me a server log when you start Shairtunes (republish) so I can see what
publisher is used?

Checked the 2 other iPhones in the household (XL, 13, SE) and the
Logitech devices aren't in the list but the DAC32 is so something weird
with the iOS phones.

I've noticed some issues lately with my devices appearing on my iPhone
in the airplay selections. I have 4 devices (Touch, Radio, Classic, and
Polyvection DAC32), and lately I have to do a "Re-Publish" action in the
LMS settings in order to get the 3 logitech devices to show up. The
DAC32 is always listed, but for the other 3 Logitech devices, it seems
like at least every day require the "Re-Publish" action for me to see
them on the phone. Not sure exactly when this started, but at least a
month ago I noticed it. No issues with Airplay streaming once the device
is found. Any suggestions or thoughts on whether I need to update a
setting so that this isn't required?
